Both of my shipment experiences were with DHL. Latest was around Feb-24. I had no issues. I'm in CA.
Thank you, @YGR. I did go back and read some previous posts about shipping and returns and it sounds like aside from @Loganz's needing to give a lot of personal information (tax returns!!!) for her last shipment from DHL, most deliveries by DHL have been without problem.
HOWEVER, it seems that returns from DHL have been problematical for a number of you. I'm wondering if the extra time to deliver for FedEX is worth it in case for whatever reason I need to return my order...

I ended up returning my last order (Feb-24) and DHL was used for the return and it worked out.

Hi everyone---have a question for you re: shipping to the US from JD---I understand they previously used DHL only but now are offering the option of FedEx---I think @Loganz was having some issues with DHL... but has anyone used FedEx recently from JD? And what was the experience? Would you use DHL or FedEx?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
FWIW, I really dislike DHL, I find them difficult to work with. There always seems to be an issue with the driver and delivery, and they don’t have a decent package pick-up option. Years ago they seemed to be the only international game in town but FedEx has really stepped up in the last 20 years or so. I find their process pretty seamless. HTH :flowers:

ETA: my difficulties were not with JD specifically, I’ve had a few annoying experiences with them although no loss or damage thank goodness.

Good to know, @textilegirl! Thanks again!

Diane L20, ardoise - will be getting this bag soon  any of you have experience with the bag? How is size and usage?
I have Diane L20 in black.... size and usage is close to perfect for me.... Due to decent width of this bag, it fits all i carry. Heritage leather does get scratches but I knew that before I bought the bag. I use it mainly as top handle (to show it off lol); crossbody wear is also comfortable and I think looks good as well.

I was considering the other leather that doesnt scratch as much… but couldnt let go the fact that heritage leather is a superior quality

you know those blotting papers we use for the face to remove excess oil? try that and see if it helps.

otherwise, since it's very small, you can just wait for patina to take over and let it blend in. go with the flow <3

Well, my pre-ordered Nenuphar Diane Messenger bag arrived sooner than expected (although not without some delivery issues—-see below) and it indeed is gorgeous! In fact when I took it out of the box my husband stopped dead in his tracks, commenting on how beautiful it is. My iphone is weirdly showing the bag looking different colors but it is closer to the forest green in the 2nd photo.

Just a head's up---since a number of people had talked of issues with DHL, I asked for the bag to be sent FedEx---and indeed I had to fill out a form with my SS number/ and JD had to send information re: the bag's "composition"---but not before the bag sat at FedEX in Memphis for over 2 full days without anyone knowing about this need. As I follow the tracking I ended up calling FedEx customer service to find out why the bag was just sitting there and only THEN they told me. This was a US CUSTOMS/FedEX issue not JD's, and of course FedEX could have notified us all in a more timely manner. I have no idea how long the bag might have sat there without us having a clue what the problem was... However, luckily customs did not open the package and handle the bag. But if you order you should know, as this seems to happen with both DHL and FedEx. Also, as many of you noted, it was quite expensive to ship this bag (customs duties and state tax)---so obviously the most cost efficient situation is to pick up in Paris if at all possible.

In any event, JD was VERY responsive to all the issues---I think their customer service is wonderful!! They were also fantastic in communication/ video visits to view bags long-distance/ and answering any and all questions I had.
Hope that my experience helps anyone considering an order from the US.
