Love seeing our "new" faces here today, I am an "old salt" ahoy maties...got my L26 at work today.....and two more weeks til my L30 is ready for shipping!!
I think most companies create a story to romance the client. We are all buying in to marketing hype from pr firms. Be it Chanel, Hermes or JD. I love Chanel. I know that the history, brand identity and story all comes from a PR machine. Some of the stuff Chanel produces is ridiculous and we know H is all about the bottom line while romancing the idea of some old artesian hand stitching bags. I know when I spend, I am buying into the hype and marketing and the story the brand created. Most of it fiction.
I am into luxury beauty products and have worked in the cosmetic world. I know when new companies who have no brand established identity yet release products priced along side of luxury houses it is a tough sell. But everyone has to start somewhere.
The point is these companies, ALL of them are only concerned about their bottom line. All of them! Buy what resonates you and brings you joy. The JD bags are beautiful and I love the Diane. I LOVE the hardwear , butt plug and all.
Life is short, enjoy what makes you happy!

we have to remember that not everything in the FSH windows say anything about what's available (or would be available) for production. they should be considered purely for decorative purposes. back in 2021 I saw a Volynka B30 on the window:
It's now 2024 and Volynka has not yet been offered as a Birkin in any size.
Anyway, to stay on topic, the Dianes L15 and L30 are now available to be pre-ordered on the JD site:
I’m really bummed to discover that the inside of the L30 is divided into 2 compartments. Seems rather unnecessary (and won’t work for me).
oh dear. I did not see that. bummer indeed. I was hoping it was like a Bolide 30 inside.
Yeah, I have a (perhaps irrational) aversion to compartments inside bags. A side slip or zipper for phone/cards/etc.is handy but it makes no sense to me to chop up the inside of a bag like that. That is what organizers are for.
Accordion insides are bossy. (Also I never use the tiny pocket in my Diane Messenger because it’s too small and flat to fit anything I use. But at least it doesn’t interfere.)
I don't mind divided interiors - I have a couple Gucci's like this. It just depends on the top closure and if I can fit my stuff and close the bag. I liked the look of the L30 that the divider did not dissuade me from the purchase - I am hoping it meets my expectations for functionality!

My problem is that I am super picky about organization in general. I change my bag pretty much every day and have a “system” that involves two sizes of organizers. The L30 is deep enough that it looks like it might accommodate that, but my strong preference would be one large interior compartment.

Which organizer do you use? One of the reason I don't change bags that often is because I don't use one, lol
For medium-large bags I use an H Fourbi 20, which is flexible and fairly sturdy but not bulky, and with smaller bags I use a Prada cosmetic pouch. (The Fourbi is a bit too tall for the Diane so it gets the other one.) It really does make it easy to swap bags (and I'm very conscious of wanting my bags to rest a bit between outings). Also it keeps the inside of the bags looking youthful, although with JD's chèvre linings that's not so crucial - was more of an issue with the Moynat linings.
I do like the taupe lining on the Diane - it's not too light but makes it easy to see stuff.
I use a Prada nylon cosmetic pouch too, lol - well not for everything - I am just starting to wean off dependency from "continental" wallets, I have this obsession with having every card with me at all times...cause that sounds safe, LMAO
Is it divided into two segments or does it have a divider that doesn’t completely section off the two sides? I dislike bags that have dividers that allow your things to migrate from side to side (under the fabric/leather).
