Is it divided into two segments or does it have a divider that doesn’t completely section off the two sides? I dislike bags that have dividers that allow your things to migrate from side to side (under the fabric/leather).
It is divided into two sections, things can't migrate between the 2.

More bad news for me! Conceptually this is very similar to the inside of the Ferragamo Margot, which I carried like 3 times before rehoming because my Fourbi made it tip over regardless of which side i put it on.

:crybaby:

I will patiently await whatever info trickles out on that nubuck flap, sounds like it's a better candidate for me.

Ohhhhh. The Rose clutch in Lumière. Lumière should’ve never been compared to box. Lumière is not a leather for people who dislike patina. Not only that, this particular leather is light in color. I consider it a don’t-wear-lotion-special-occasion purse.

I thought about buying this clutch, but I didn’t because I knew I’d be afraid to use it. It’s not for me.

I’ve had my Fontélie for over a year and it’s in excellent shape. I could be wrong, but I think ‘Nicolas’ and his wife liked the clutch’s look, but found the hardware awkward and the leather all wrong. I blame ‘Nicolas’ for not reaching out to the brand.

I reread the story. There are some errors … and the writing style/arguments sound familiar.

@FatFIRE mentioned in an earlier post there are reports (with an s) of hardware erosion. May I ask where I can find more reports before I purchase a Diane L bag?

I thought ‘Nicolas’ compared the leather to box when they wrote:

I believe they thought they were getting a box-like leather.

Well, that case, the person should have also known Box also scratches easily.

If we are paying a lot of money like for a JD bag (and it is a lot of money) then it's right to expect a certain level of quality for the investment. However, due diligence, it sounded like he'd done a deep-dive much later. Research first, buy late. Choosing a suitable leather for one's lifestyle or expectations is one of the most important things. It's not the hardest thing in the world to replate either, I'd have just sent the bag back to Paris for repair.

Under JD's 'Care Instructions':
• If your bag has been stained or damaged, we recommend that you contact our advisors.

I wouldn't think they would want to lose a new client. Repeat business is what luxury is supposed to be all about. After all, happy customers who're using their bags are the best way of spreading the word.

Anyone know what's JD's guarantee policy, and what's their aftercare policy?

I don't see anything online about a "policy" other than what you cited repeated for different situations.

FWIW I did have a small issue with my bag (a number of months after purchase). I emailed them about it and they were incredibly responsive and helpful, and it was resolved perfectly.

I wonder if we in the States will see customer service increase for any issues as they broaden their US presence? The opportunity to send a bag to NYC or CA and then have the associates at the store level handle any return to the "mothership" in France for "spa"?

Ooh - do you have intel on this? (If this has already been discussed I missed it.)

I don't! I guess I was making assumptions based on the trunk show in CA and hopes that expansion here with a named store would make sense....does anyone else have intel?
My only comment, based on my recollection of Moynat’s initial expansion, is that it’s very complicated and the US would not necessarily be the first JD outpost outside of France.

Moynat went through Dior and Asia was the initial focus, and JD doesn’t have the “sister” companies to leverage.

Looks like H might see some value in a past Ramesh design. From @thebaghag IG.

Helloo! Haha woops I am backreading posts since I havent been on here in a loooong time! And YES indeed, H brought back more Ramesh Nair-designed bags and these are centerstage on the H mothership window! ❤️❤️

Still adoring my st. Clair clutch!! Has some character marks now from use and my little one, but knew that with the type of leather it is and still love the quality of the leather and hardware ❤️ really hope they expand this line further to have a grained leather version- that would be my dream bag 🥰

yeah and I don't think it's gone gone. JD just probably just ran out of leather allocated for these particular models and the bags will be available to order once they replenish their leather stock.

I've also seen Chanel's prices and it's shocking that a Chanel medium flap costs almost as much as a Birkin 25.
Hi @allanrvj 👋🏻 lol i just had to comment about chanel's prices 💀🫣 the price has breached the B25 level 😄🤣💀

Did anyone see the smaller JD Dianes in lizard -- I am not sure if they call it micro or nano but they're even smaller than the L20. There's a very different matted treatment of the lizard skin and it had an almost rubber-like appearance which I found so unique and really cool.

PS I have actually been trying to put together an IG Reel of the latest JD bags that I saw over a month ago, but for some odd reason IG keeps freezing while I'm in the middle of my edits. So I'll try again when I have a few hours to spare.

Here are some more photos I took at the event. The SLGs and the Fontelie bag are in a deliciously tender grained calf that reminded me of H Togo. There was a new St Clair with top handle priced at 6300 USD / 5300 EUR which comes in blue or grey suede. I’m currently between those two myself! The work on the handle is beautifully sculpted. The handle and shoulder strap are removable which makes it easier to store as well.

that new Saint Clair bag is really SOOO NICE. I had gotten the purple version of the earlier Saint-Clair and wish I had waited for this (if only I had known). But gosh purple bags = my kryptonite! :) I really love this new Saint-Clair version because of that detachable top handle! Soooo soooo nice!!
