Welcome to the slippery slope!I've been lurking in the Bal forum while stalking resellers for my first Bal bag. Finally pulled the trigger with Fashionphile. I probably overpaid a bit, but it was exactly the specs I was looking for and in very good condition.

Thank you. I know it's gonna be bad because I'm already thinking about what pop of color I want for the next one! I wanted a black Velo first to interchange with my other crossbody bag. It's an Hermes Evelyne GM that I love, but sometimes just need/want that zipper closure. I was so happy to find this one, exactly the specs I was looking for, it still even had the mirror and tassels!. I love the smooshy/crinkly leather and will start stalking again tomorrow for the next one! I came to Bal really late, only starting to look at the the brand and its history a couple of years ago, but from the research I've done, Nicolas Ghesquière era is my favorite (even before his successors controversies) and I'm hoping to find more.Welcome to the slippery slope!
I always look at it this way-something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. That way it’s not expensive if it’s what you want.I've been lurking in the Bal forum while stalking resellers for my first Bal bag. Finally pulled the trigger with Fashionphile. That's a good way of looking at it. I thought I would have better luck with TRR than FP because I've found FP's prices on Bal bags generally higher than TRR. This one was actually pretty reasonable compared to most of their other ones. I'm guessing it was mostly due to age, it was listed as being from 2004. For an almost 20 year old bag, it looks great.I always look at it this way-something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. That way it’s not expensive if it’s what you want.
Of course, I’ve been sliding down the slippery slope (on a sled) for awhile!
That’s a much newer bag than 04. FP doesn’t seem to realize that the alphabet is being reused again since there are only 26 letters. That's a good way of looking at it. Oh, so how do I tell what year it actually is?That’s a much newer bag than 04. FP doesn’t seem to realize that the alphabet is being reused again since there are only 26 letters.
I'm guessing the alphabet letter on the tag front and back his either B or C? Those were the letters for 04. (They also weren't on the tag back in 04). In the current bags, B would be S/S 2017, C would be F/W 2016. The bag is agneau, not chevre.Oh, so how do I tell what year it actually is?
It is in very nice condition! The hardware looks pretty clean and the leather in very good shape. It is a super pretty bag-congrats!Oh, so how do I tell what year it actually is?

I love this. These Cities with the longer strap are worth more, IMO. And I love the shiny smaller gold hardware. Truly gorgeous.
