I would definitely start with beads before you resize the ring at all. My knuckle is more than 1 full size bigger than the base of my ring. My ring is sized to get over my knuckle with two blobs of platinum inside where it would be against my skin. That fills the gap and prevents most of the spinning. In the winter it's almost 2 full sizes (aka 4 vs 6) difference between knuckle and base of finger and I still have a little spinning but nothing like I would without the beads.

Half-shank pave or not, sizing a ring with pave is still likely to mess the pave all up. It changes the "tension" in the beads that hold the stones.[/QUOTE]

This is what I'm talking about! I hear good jewelers will retighten all the pave crowns after resizing to avoid pave falling out. Some use laser or what not-correct me people.

I have the soleste with an aquamarine and double halo (in my avatar) I had it sized from a 6 to a 5.5 and have had no issues whatsoever with the ring. It was only a half size so I am quite sure that wouldn't cause any problems with the setting itself. Plus, it IS tiffany so if anything were to crop up they stand behind their products!

Oh, you experience almost 2 full sizes difference in the winter!!! I know having little blobs will definetely help, but I prefer the ring without them. I am only talking about the appearance. hehe

Also, it depends on how much you want to resize. If I go to Tiffany and ask them to resize, I will make them promise that all the paves will not affected by resizing.:smile1:

Hi, baglover1973!!! Thank you for your follow-up! Love your ring! Very pretty:heart:. I have never seen a solete with an aquamarine. Have you posted the pics of your ring somewhere???

I am happy to hear that you are totally happy with your resized soleste.:p As you said, if anything wrong occurs with your ring, you just go and ask them to fix it.:D

I don't have a soleste but I have a similar design. my ring was a 6 originally and I had it sized to an 8 with no problems. I went to reputable goldsmith and he sized it with no problems....but if you do size a ring with pave make sure the jeweller who does it knows what they are doing!
einseine- I don't think you'll have any issues sizing your ring at tiffany!

Thank you, Candice! Yes, if you go to reputable one, your ring must be checked after resized. I'll check with Tiffany, but I don't think they find it problem resizing from 6 to 5.5, even it is Soleste.

^ agreed! that way if the sizing doesn't go well there's nothing to worry about :D
i'm almost wishing I went up a quarter size on my ring to a 8.25, it has a thicker euroshank which is very comfortable but when it's humid outside my finger looks puffyish....

Candice, it might be a good idea for you to wait for a while to see how much your finger size changes in the winter!

eiseine:
WOW...beautiful ring....congrats

I have a soleste too and I sized it down from 6 to 3.5 so sizing isn't an issue.
It took Tiffany one week to do it, but it's been fine since then.

Although I was measured for ring size 3.5 and they did size it correctly, it is kinda loose.
They offered to go another 1/4 size down for me, but I elected to wait till summer and my finger swell before I bought it back.

One interesting thing, I bought my wedding band (half circle of paved diamonds) from Tiffany as well. It was size 3.5 and that one fits perfect.

2ckwt1,
Thanks! and congrats on your soleste, too!!! Oh, your resizing was a major one, and you still have no issue. I am so glad for you!:D Actually, I sometimes feel I need to have two same rings for summer and winter... We must size our rings for our "summer" fingers anyway.

The ring fitting changes a lot, depending on the shape/width of the arm. Sometimes when you stack them, they fit better.:D

thanks so much...they started the gemstones within the last few months...all of the soleste rings are just stunning and if tiffany does your resize I wouldn't worry for one second...they will stand by the ring....
If they didn't, they obviously would have more sizes avail...right? ;)

baglover1973,

As Candice said, please share the pics of your aquamarine soleste! Yours looks really lovely! You can start a new thread or post the engagement ring thread or Tiffany jewelry piece/reference thread or here or anywhere!!!

I didn't do any sort of "reveal" but I can take some pics and post them in the engagement ring thread :) For reference it is a 1.05 center with .42 ctw of pave diamonds set in plat.
