i never seen these pics! Thanks for sharing. I've seen the HW 1ct in person and I prefer the Tiffany soleste design hands down. The HW 1ct is very small imho.

eye candy, I wanted to purchase something from HW, but I prefered the Soleste. Not only design wise, but to match the Soleste size, we needed to purchase an over 2 carats yellow diamond micropave setting. It was a bit costly. Yes, if you are used to the size of a RB, a cushion-cut looks "smaller." (Besides, HW's (& DeBeers') micropave setting is really really dainty!) But, I really love cusion-cut diamonds! I want to one some day. :smile1:

eiseine what is your ring size? Did you have to resize this beautiful soleste?

I have not resized my soleste yet, but I might need it...
I have ALWAYS difficulties with my ring size. My finger size is 5.25, but my knuckle size is 6.... The soleste's arm is very thin, so I feel it much larger than the Classic Solitiare. I tried to wear my Soleste on right hand, but...she looks more beautiful on my left wedding finger! So, I am thinking.:smile1:

See if Tiffany will put sizing balls in the shank? That way it will help still go over your knuckle but the beads will keep it from flopping as much or spinning as much.

Thank you for your advice, ame! Actually I was recommended to do so by the SA, BUT, I wanted to bring back the ring right away! hehe. In the winter, my finger shrinks(!), so I really have to think about it...:smile1:

Scarlet555, Oh, I see. You worry about resizing of the paved arm. Soleste's arm is "half-paved." So, I don't think it's a big matter.. Wait!! I think I have read that khol_mascara had resized her Soleste. Perhaps, from 6 to 5.5??? So, it can be done!:D

I would definitely start with beads before you resize the ring at all. My knuckle is more than 1 full size bigger than the base of my ring. My ring is sized to get over my knuckle with two blobs of platinum inside where it would be against my skin. That fills the gap and prevents most of the spinning. In the winter it's almost 2 full sizes (aka 4 vs 6) difference between knuckle and base of finger and I still have a little spinning but nothing like I would without the beads.

Half-shank pave or not, sizing a ring with pave is still likely to mess the pave all up. It changes the "tension" in the beads that hold the stones.

I don't have a soleste but I have a similar design. my ring was a 6 originally and I had it sized to an 8 with no problems. I went to reputable goldsmith and he sized it with no problems....but if you do size a ring with pave make sure the jeweller who does it knows what they are doing!
einseine- I don't think you'll have any issues sizing your ring at tiffany!

^ agreed! that way if the sizing doesn't go well there's nothing to worry about :D
i'm almost wishing I went up a quarter size on my ring to a 8.25, it has a thicker euroshank which is very comfortable but when it's humid outside my finger looks puffyish....

WOW...beautiful ring....congrats

I have a soleste too and I sized it down from 6 to 3.5 so sizing isn't an issue.
It took Tiffany one week to do it, but it's been fine since then.

Although I was measured for ring size 3.5 and they did size it correctly, it is kinda loose.
They offered to go another 1/4 size down for me, but I elected to wait till summer and my finger swell before I bought it back.

One interesting thing, I bought my wedding band (half circle of paved diamonds) from Tiffany as well. It was size 3.5 and that one fits perfect.

Eiseine, you know I wanted a small soleste bc I already have an engagement ring, but I was so scared to resize it b/c the structure, and I wasn't sure how good the pave would hold, even with half pave. Half pave can be resized and I was told that too when I went to try the 1.3 soleste-which was huge! I definately want a smaller soleste. I'm usually concerned for a diamond chipping off after altering the original crown holding the diamond by altering the size!

2ckwt1-thanks for the input, so you resized the soleste and no issues. That's good to know. No pave falling out. But do you wear it daily? I plann to wear my rings daily, as life is so short.:p

Yeah, each ring, same size can fit differently.
