$1500 for that ring?? I don't think it's worth spending more than $50. I'm sorry to say this but it looks cheap. I've noticed some of the designer's jewellery on net-a-porter, and I think they're all seriously overpriced.

Truth? I've been eyeballing SAP for months now: I think her designs are clever and well-executed. That said, I'm not sure if I'd be able to stomach the price for that piece directly. Perhaps on the resale market? I'd be more tempted by one of the pave lip rings, but I sort of shudder to think of the price ....

I think her designs are clever and well-executed.

ITA, I could go nuts on her website if I had enough $, but if silver + enamel is this much I'm pretty sure I'd go into shock at the prices for pave rings. Heh heh.

Whether or not I purchase this currently depends on the outcome of an eBay auction I'm watching. Also on my level of recklessness next time I go to the website to stare at it. :D

EDIT: Hekate what pieces are you eyeballing? The little enamel birdie rings are cute, too. In the past I've found her jewelry to be a little too rock-n-roll/hard edged for me but I'm loving the recent stuff.

no way! not at this price (come to think of probably not any other price either) but this is ridiculously overpriced for silver and enamel and a short-term fashion piece.

I also feel the piece has very limited wearing abilities. Unless you work as a make-up artist, work in fashion, or own your own business, then the piece has very limited wear. I do not think it is a work appropriate piece. I think it would be a fun weekend piece, but is $1500 worth it for something that has limited use? The piece would not be for me. Please look at my suggested pieces, and, IMHO, choose one of those.

I own my own business (and can wear whatever I choose) and attend grad school so yeah, as I said, this kind of thing, simply because I like it a lot and because I don't spend a lot of time anywhere where there is a dress code, would get a lot of wear.

HOWEVER...

The Most Revered Shopping Gods have decreed: IT SHALL NOT BE.

Creditcardfire will go without her Solange Azagury-Partridge looks-like-Claire's ring.

(the Shopping Gods decided I was better off spending my $ on Chanel tweed. I agree with them.)

I am sorry for the offense caused by this thread. Think of bargains, ladies. Bargains and slow, deep breaths. :D

I'm glad you decided not to get it, this is the sort of item that I feel you would tire of quickly. like a year from now your tastes would have changed a bit and you'd be thinking, what in the world was I thinking spending that kind of money on this ring??

or at least that's how I would be thinking :p

It is very cool but if I saw you wearing that, I would honestly assume you got it from F21 or a similar cheapie store for $5 or less. I'd definitely pass for that price.

I'm ALL for enabling (and your OP was so well worded I just had to check this out!) - I mean I am YOUR GIRL when it comes to helping you spend! But I'd seriously not buy this ring. It's so trendy and I do have to agree, personally I think it looks cheap. It's not so much the materials that offend me (I have bought silver for close to that from Tiffany's) but it just doesn't even look like it's worth anything to me - I have to agree with the girls above!

I'd like to say "but if money is no object" but I can't even say that! Even if it was no object that seems like WAY too much.

Sorry. I suck. I know. :p
