Is this price just offensive?

IMHO, I would not get that ring. It is a ring that will only be in fashion for a short period of time, and then you will have spent $1500 on a ring that you will never wear. Also, there is no resale value to the piece. So, you would be investing in an item that costs a lot of money, and you cannot even get a quarter of its value out of it. Next, the enamel may chip over time, leaving you with a pair of lips with chips. Finally, it looks like an inexpensive piece of jewelry. IMHO, if I am spending $1500, I want it to look like it costs me at least that much.

My thoughts exactly.

There are so many cheaper alternatives, and I don't think the ring is so TDF adorable that the look could not be had for much, much less. It looks very young, trendy and even gum-ball-machine-ish to me, and I wouldn't spend more than $15 for something like that. Resale value isn't really important, just whether you truly adore the ring enough to pay the enormously ridiculous mark-up. I don't think it is worth it, but only you can decide if your budget can fit that item at that price.

Arrrrgh. Thanks for all your comments! I am not sure I'm any closer to making a decision but I can say that a)resale value doesn't mean anything to me because I don't resell and b)'trendiness' doesn't mean anything to me either - if I spend that much $ on a thing, I'm gonna wear the thing regardless of whether or not it's "in".

That said, yes, 1500 DOLLARS FOR ENAMEL AND SILVER. Here's a link to the other colours available from the designers own website (her perfume is ridiculously overpriced, too, btw): http://www.solangeazagurypartridge.com/#/jewellery/enamel/hotlips-1

I'm leaning towards not getting the ring now. Which makes me angry. Because I waaaaant it. But you are all 100% correct - $1500 is something I could spend on an investment piece (jewelry, clothing, whatever).

Damn you, overpriced designers, damn you!

EDIT: Thanks for links to similiar rigns, am going to check em out now.

$1500 FOR ENAMEL AND SILVER?!!! HELL to the NO. Sorry, that isn't cute enough for that much money. Hell I would probably not exceed $15.00 for that.
I agree, I would just buy something similar from forever 21 or h&m for 5 dollars- i dont think this design or materials are worth the 3000 percent markup

I like the ring. There is a youtube make up artists that wears the red one. I think it is adorable. But I honestly would pay 1500 for it. Maybe a year ago, but I am being more selective with my purchases now.

I think the price is INSANE!! It looks like something that one would buy at clairs durring a ten for ten dollar sale. But that's just me. If you can afford it and want it go for it. But I think its nuts.
