Is this a defect, is this normal for this Chanel item?

Thanks for you answer! Maybe is it because it looses a bit of structure? Also if you don’t mind me asking, how are enjoying your bag? I have seen some videos about the jumbo size and it seems like a size you could use a lot
My classic flaps are all recent and they hall have this light leaning forward when placed standing. They don’t fall, bother just look like this. I have all sizes and I have to say jumbo is the one I use the most

Hi all,

I bought a pre-loved jumbo caviar flap a while back and love(d) it. However, I recently compared it to a friend’s and now I can’t unsee something: my caviar pebbles are large and smooth. Does this look normal to you? Does anyone here also have a flap that looks like this?

Thank you!
Yes caviar may differ from bag to bag. I bought my bags at Chanel shop and some has caviar similar to yours, some have a different one

Hey TPFers!
I bought my third (OMG lol) preloved Chanel. I know alot of Chanel lovers don't like the patent leather bags. BUT I have a question if this is normal. I got this bag from A Retro Tale and the bag is from the year 2010/2011.

I was wondering if this is a defect... Is it because it's patent leather or the age? Or whatever?

I think it was a good price (probably also because its patent leather and they may not be that popular). I mean it is preloved so it CANT look like new (which she does at the first sight). There is something which caught my eyes a few days after I got it with the mail.

So what do you think? I'm petty sometimes...

What I see is the structure of the flap and the leather underneath where the lock is... Do YOU see it or is it me?

It's the same at the back of the bag. The attached pocket is a different structure than the "all over" bag.

I also attached a pic with a not so good light. Is it still noticable to you?

Hi everyone! I often browse ads for pre-owned Chanel Classic flap bags, and sometimes I come across photos where the back pocket of a bag looks slightly crooked 🙄 Is it normal for Chanel?

Hello dear Chanel community,

I bought a Mini Top Handle in Black last year in St. Tropez. I was very happy to find this bag, as it was hard to come by in the past. But as I unpacked it back at home, I noticed several things and I wanted to get your opinion about it.

1) the leather ist extremely matte. I never saw a lambskin leather so matte. Unfortunately I didn’t notice it at the store. I have other lambskin bags and find them to be much more shiny and soft to touch.
2) the stitches at the corners are done quite unclean. I don’t know if this is maybe normal for less softer materials (as the very matte lambskin).

Have you ever seen lambskin like this? Is this normal? Should I complain at the store?

I never wore the bag, because I am not as happy with it. And thinking about selling it. Even though I love the Mini Top Handle and will loose money for sure 🥲

I see what you mean about it being a bit more matte...but I kinda love it imo, it gives it a bit of an edge. Looks almost like satin in the full bag photo you posted. I've heard the lambskin can be different depending on the season, that's probably what's caused it. I'd imagine it would get shinier with more use as the natural oils from your fingers get on the leather

you're right, it looks like satin. I was just a little disappointed, that it does't have the luxe feel to it. Let's see, how this changes when wearing over time.

I just purchased this “new in box” from a very reputable seller that says she bought it herself from the store. I’ve never had my straps fraying like this and I have lots of bags. Is this normal?? This is a 22C Sakura pink medium classic flap. It’s not returnable and idk what to do. She’s literally my dream bag.

Hi everyone! I purchased an absolutely beautiful Chanel cardholder: black caviar with GHW. While I love the piece, I did notice a bit of gapping in two of the three exterior card slots. I’ve attached a picture of one of them - you can see a gap between where my card sits and the actual cardholder. It doesn’t feel loose, but I wanted to check with this community to confirm if all is good or is this at risk of stretching out & my card falling out eventually after some time as the leather will eventually soften and stretch.

Thank you 🫶

It's fine. Use it and love it. If this is your main card holder, It's meant to stretch out eventually because cards are bulky. I have several Chanel ones and other brands for each of my designer bags to match. I do use my Prada for everyday use and it is really really well loved... like I can fit maybe 8 cards in the middle and 3 to 4 cards each on the sides. Haha. My other ones I use to match my purses for gno or special occasions and will put like 1 card each in each slot to keep the shape so it doesn't stretch.
