. A scuff doesn’t bother me as much because at the end of the day a purse is a piece of leather meant to be used and no price tag makes animal skin infallible.
However in this case I’m wondering if there could be a particular issue with the finish of that teal 2.55 reissue? I have dozens of other Chanel bags (including other reissues) without that peeling issue. That particular bag is also peeling at 8 other places. Strangely, it is not peeling at high friction traffic areas (e.g., back pockets).
I wonder if that is something that a leather restorator can fix. I’ve heard that paint peel is easy to fix, but not if the actual leather is peeled, revealing the raw parts.
