A couple of things bothered me that may sound petty but I knew long term would cause me not to reach for it very often:

CONS
- my biggest issue with it: to unzip the bag I had to hold the strap on one side where the strap meets the bag and then pull the zipper open. I’ve seen some preowned bags where the bag is worn there. You have to essentially pull at the strap where it is connected to the bag if that makes sense and then pull the zipper open and the zipper was not smooth so it was enough of a struggle, that over time, would certainly show wear on the strap pulling like that.

- if I didn’t zip the bag closed every time I got into it, the bag would flip over if I bent over a little and everything would fall out.

- I’m not a huuuuge fan of the giant tassel but it wasn’t a deal breaker obviously.

- it was a bit of a Tetris game having to get things in and out of it.

PROS
- Camelia (sp?) is the most beautiful neutral I’ve ever seen
- The leather is exceptional
- it’s a good looking bag
- it’s comfortable and fits great crossbody

I returned it and bought a mini Pandora.
I eventually also purchased a Chloe mini Marcie. I still have the Disco on my mind though but the struggle to open it every single time bothers me too much.

I wonder if the zipper was fairly stiff on your bag. I just use the zip without pressure anywhere else. If you do decide to repurchase on leather versions (not suede/nubuck) you can get a small b-day cake candle and gently rub a tiny amount over the zip teeth. You could also not closing all the way, leave the tassel at the top diagonal so the 'journey' is only straight across.

I knew I'd like the style because I have my mother's old Chanel Tassel bag, the only thing that annoys me about that is the chain. I much prefer a leather strap, there's actually a lot of work that goes into making a strap.

I bought mine relatively late waiting for the right colour however it wasn't as much as they are now, but it's proved to be a great for everyday, even day > night for me, I think if there is one bag that's worth its price it's the Gucci Soho Disco.

You brought me back memories. I had a Chanel suede tassel bag very similar to disco but with chain strap. I sold it and wish I hadn’t. :(

Oh no!!! :hugs:

Eve though the tassel has become a part of Gucci's iconography, I must say I'm sure the SD was modelled on the C Tassel.

I must say I was tempted a couple of times, C is so easy to raise funds on. There was always the issue of sentimental value to stop me and that I really enjoy this style (if I was to buy a Marmont it would also be the camera bag style). It's such a great little bag that ca go from 'street' to grown-up chic. Do you think you'll get another?

Not sure. I have 2 discos but there was something quite elegant about the Chanel I let go. What was I thinking? I’m more careful now about what I buy/sell.

TNGYPSY- I couldn't agree more with your observations. I did not like this bag for the same reasons as you. Additionally, it drove me nuts that immediately after wearing it, the back of the bag became concave and started sinking in (a problem notorious with this bag). I sold mine after 2 wears. Not at all worth it at this price point.

Oh yes! I forgot about it being concave. Mine was too.

Have not had any of the problems noted by others. No zipper issues, no concave issues. I did notice that the new one I have is a stiffer bag than the older one and the strap buckle is placed a little differently. the new stiffer one is not just stiffer because its new. My older one was never as stiff.

Quality-wise?

It's currently $1450 here in Australia. I like the look, but if I am spending that amount of money it should be something that will last, and with high quality.
It’s a tad pricey and I think it’s at the upper end of what they should charge for a bag like this. That said, I own two disco bags and they have both held up really well with tons of use. My red one is softer and shows minor signs of wear where the metal ring connects to the bag (where the strap attaches). The nude color one is stiffer leather and doesn’t have much wear at all. The concave thing doesn’t bother me. Overall, this bag is sooo practical and I’ve even taken it for a day at Disneyland!

Funny cauz I have the opposite. Red much stiffer than rose beige. But the rose beige is much older I’ve had for quite a while.

I think it’s worth it. I had sticker shock when I visited the website a few weeks ago. I can’t remember what I paid for mine, but it was under $1,000. I think it’s worth it. It’s lost it’s shape a bit, but only where it hits my body. I stuff it, but not always because it’s in heavy rotation year round. I am careful with it. I bought it in 2016. There is no wear and tear, tassel is great, and the interior is still clean and in perfect condition. It’s a very well made bag.

I think the price point is currently a bit high for what it is. That being said, I purchased mine about 3 months ago and I have been using it nonstop since. I love how carefree it is and how roomy it is, even though it doesn't look big at all. It's also pretty lightweight. I can fit my full-sized LV wallet in there, which is one of the reasons why I love the bag so much. I dislike switching out of my wallet every time I use a different bag. I've carried it on the weekends for shopping and dinners and also to clubs and bars and it has held up very nicely. It has become a bit sunken in on the back, but I don't mind it at all because it conforms to my body. I also dress rather casually, and this bag complements my lifestyle perfectly. I purchased the black color and didn't spray anything on it because I was so eager to start using it already, but the leather looks just the same as the day I bought it.

Hi all . I have had my black Gucci disco for 18 months and I still love it. I use it nearly every day. I do not Baby it and it still looks amazing . It fits so much and is very practical . I prefer it to my other bags which I find so heavy. The disco has just the right amount of space for me. I now love camera style bags, I like the security of the zip. The leather is beautiful and has aged well. The tassel still looks great. The only issue I have had is I feel the hardware has started to fade in places.
All in all I think it was worth the money as I get so much wear out of it. I wear it casually , to work and have used it in the evening too. I love it.

Have had my disco for over 2 years. Use it every weekend and often during the week. Attaching a picture here that I took last week. At the time it was 980 and I got with a discount code (when Gucci wans’t the hot thing like it is now) and now I think it costs 1190 in the US. This is what I will say, if you don’t really love the bag, 1190 might be too much. I don’t regret buying this bag. I even bought the beige one. My bag shows no wear. I condition it and clean it. But that’s me. It is life giving to me to take care if my bags that way. Some of the experiences ppl listed are accurate. Last weekend I was at church and my bag was unzipped. Needless to say I grabbed it quickly by the strap and it flipped upside down so I stuff fell and some friends found my cc on the ground later. About Losing shape: it can happen but it hasn’t happened to me. I always stuff my bags when i put them away. That bags fits a lot. It is not a tote so u can’t compare. It is a weekend bag for me so I know what I need it for.
