Is monogram too tacky/flashy?

Monogram has been my fave since I was a teen... I’m a lot older now & it’s still my favorite. I don’t find it tacky at all. Usually tacky is the wearer not what’s being worn.
I carry my monogram everywhere. I just love it!

I do think the monogram is tacky. I never found it attractive and i feel like the look has been cheapened due to so many people wearing fake LV monograms. Some people can rock it though. I just think its rare it looks good on someone.
I love DA & DE though. I just think monograms scream nouveau riche..

Your way of thinking could be considered nouveau riche. Chanel, Hermes, Gucci, etc are just as heavily repliated.

It's tacky just like GG, YSL, CC, H, MCM, and a whole bunch of other logos IMO.
I still like a lot of the bags from these fashion houses though. BUT not all of them. Some are tackier than others. For example, for some reason, I just can't get into the big YSL logos on the center of most YSL bags. Front and center and screaming more attention IMO. I think it's because the design of the YSL logo has 3 letters instead of just 2, and in a vertical display, which takes up more footprint on the front of the bag.

I agree with this. If you truly love something, no matter what it is, you won’t care what anyone else thinks about it.

IMHO it seems to me that maybe LV is not for you. You say that you do not like Empreinte or epi and that DE and mono is unprofessional. That pretty much leaves DA and vernis.

Totally agree with this. It completely depends on the person, the rest of their outfit, etc. Not that I go around evaluating how tacky other people look! I don't particularly care what anyone else is carrying, unless I'm admiring the bag of course. However, if I saw someone head to toe in monogram canvas items, or a mixture of monogrammed pieces from different designers, I'm sure I would probably find it a bit gaudy.

To be honest I think I would have to wonder how anyone could truly like LV as a brand if they find the monogram canvas tacky. Of course there are many other options for bags and accessories from LV, but monogram canvas really is the signature of the brand.

I don’t think it’s tacky at all, it’s classic. I do agree that it depends on the person, but when I see the canvas, I initially think of upscale and classy.
