First of all, who cares? I wear LV because I love the brand. If it bothers other people, that's their problem. I don't mean to sound mean, but I'm tired of worrying what others think about what I carry. If they make remarks, or give "the look", it's probably because they wish they were carrying an LV. Let's face it, all of us love carrying an LV bag because of the quality, but also because it does say something about our taste. My husband drives a Mercedes, do you think he cares if people think it's "flashy"? Drive what you love, wear what you love and don't worry about it.

Wow, I didn't realize what a hot topic this is!
I was just curious what all of you think.
I agree it's classy but yet flashy.
I mean we DO buy it because it's a well know high end good quality designer.
But then again, it does scream and make others look twice.

Like I said, I love my Trevi.. and I carry it everyday.
No shame here!

I just find it a bit annoying how other girls my age can act (22).
But then again, I am beyond my age range

i get how you feel. sometimes i feel uncomfortable carrying my LV because I don't want to come across like I'm better than anyone else. I carry LV because of the luxury . and , the fact that I truly love the style. I really don't think the brand is flashy just noticeable .

I've never understood why, if someone recognizes something as being high-end designer (meaning LV, Gucci, BV) they think it's ok to ask how much is cost!!!! Didn't their mothers teach them that it's RUDE to ask the price of something?!!?!!? I DON'T GET IT!!!! People are too polite at work to ask (although some gawk), but my friends WHO KNOW BETTER still think it's ok to ask if it's high-end...again, I don't get it.

I totally agree with the poster who talked about cars and that LV is like a Mercedes or BMW for cars, is it not? We should feel proud to carry an LV just like driving those cars. I need to overcome my self-consciousness.

i'm only conscious of it when it comes to work just because i don't want stereotypes or pre-judgments from either my bosses or coworkers to affect my job/career in any way. otherwise in my normal life outside of work, i carry what i like without much consciousness of what others may think.

Yes. LV is not flashy. It is noticeable because it is well known for long time.

I understand what your saying. I'm a bit older, so I don't often feel like I'm carrying a flashy bag, or trying to show off etc. when I'm carrying LV. Yes, there are definitely some bags that scream LV more than others, but some I know people would never guess were LV, especially some of the LE bags. THere are certain occasions/times I don't necessarily want to carry a monogram back, but they are few and far between! I would go on as you are, carry your Trevi with pride and just ignore the rude people!

Oh definitely! I guess people my age don't expect to slap over 1g on a handbag, so they assume its fake?

I am new here and to LV too :),,, anyways, I am conscious of where I decide to take my LV bags, b/c I do notice that some people will look (as I did too), and I still notice other womens handbags esp. if I like it, I also notice women who carry nice coach bags too. I think it is natural to notice nice things that people wear. But I don't ever want to make people feel inferior b/c they can't afford what I can. So I mix it up depending on where I am going. But I love the mono -- my next purchase will be the ebene line.

I don't think the mono is too flashy. I almost didn't buy my multicolor bag because other people said it was too flashy but in the end i stuck with what i like and have no regrets. You should get whatever makes you happy. you deserve it!
