Is Longchamp Le Pliage worth the money?

I have the black nylon medium
(large?) shoulder tote. I bought it in Paris at the end of a trip there and have used it faithfully for over TEN years now. Not only has it held up glamorously, but it is still elegant and chic for travel. I recently acquired the purse size shoulder tote in black and brown. I use the black more than any other black bag I have. It feels so timeless and understated.

I plan to get more, too. I want the short handle large carry on and a pink/purple large tote. I plan to wear them forever.

In my opinion I wouldn't buy it for anything other than as a bag for taking on a flight and using on the beach. It's a nice bag but they are now so ubiquitous in the uk that it has filtered down and is now the 'school bag' of choice for teenage girls!!!!

I think it's worth the money. I would say that over time I have used this bag moderately. I've had mine for 2 years and aside from some fraying on the sides its really durable. all the stitching is intact aswell. I rate it.

Longchamp makes an all leather version now! I would choose that over the nylon one I have now but if you want to save money the nylon one is still a very nice bag that you won't have to baby

So glad I found this thread, I've just purchased one of these bags and waiting for it to be delivered. I've always wondered about whether it was worth the price or not given the materials so I'm hoping that I'm not disappointed when it arrives in the next few days :smile1:

I would definitely say it's worth it -- I have a few designer bags that I saved up for but keep going back to the le pliage. Being in college, I use it to carry all my heavy books and it also strikes a good balance of being simple and versatile. It's also easy to clean up and I don't really have to worry about being careful with it like other designer bags. I bought mine about 4 years ago and it has held up splendidly given I wear it about 3/4 of the year and am not really delicate with it.

i bought the large on in billberry a year ago and it has gone through a lot, from carrying books and laptop to uni (bad for your shoulder i know!) to carry lunch and uniform to work, i spilled soy sauce inside it and it handle it well, it was easy to clean! so yup, i would say go for it! is lasting very well and i don't need to baby it.

I had the same doubts so I used a couple of gift cards that I got for Christmas last year to buy one and I'm really glad I did. I love it and so far it looks as good as the day I bought it. Knowing what I know now, I would gladly spend the money to buy one.

I bought one almost a year ago and never used it. Well, this weekend in Orlando I broke it out and...

I love it!!! It's SO light! Great for days you're walking a lot. I swapped into it bc my MJ was giving me a neck ache, and now I'm in love! So worth it. And it cleans easy!!

I first purchased an orange one about 3 years ago while in NY and I fell I love. It's easy... I use a base shaper and the large purse organizer. This summer I purchased the black with black trim, brown with brown trim and the cranberry. Just wipe it off and keep going.

So glad I found this thread. I too purchased one, just yesterday. I bought a Medium in Bilberry. I absolutely love the colour! I've been debating on whether or not to get one for ages now but I'm glad I finally did. I used it today for the first time to go to work. The medium fits so much in! It's so light as well. :-)

I have both a large in Bilberry and the smaller one in Red. I was skeptical before I bought them, as I wasn't sure they'd be worth the price tag. I'm now 100% a convert.

Both of them are my go-to bags in bad weather, and the large one is great for business travel - holds a ton and still lightweight and easy to carry. They can definitely take a beating. I've had my large one for about 18 months now and it looks as good as the day I bought it - even after numerous plane flights and business trip abuse. I'm actually carrying it today as we have some icky, cold rainy/snowy weather today...

I always thought it was a nice and chic bag, but honestly I also thought it was overestimated! Plus, I got sick of seeing 80% of women in the UK carrying it. Now I am not a person that will not buy something I really like just because it is so popular; it's just that there was no "click" for me.

HOWEVER, last year on my birthday, I received a large navy shoulder LePliage as a gift by my brother and from that moment on it has become one of my favourites! It's so light, you can carry so much stuff and the bag will still look nice. The only negative is that it has no more than one pocket so sometimes when the bag is filled with stuff, it can be a bit difficult to find what you're looking for.

The price is fine with me, and the new LePliage in leather seems wonderful but waaay too expensive!

I say it all the time: Don't knock it til you've tried it! There's a reason you see this bag so often.
