If you don't go you will only say "what if" or "if only" so if your feeling to go is that strong you should go or you will never rest! Given that the trip is quite a reasonable price definitely go to Paris and follow your heart's desire....hope you get what you are looking for :yes:

paris is wonderful whether you visit a H store or not. i was there 10 times without stepping into a single H store all this while and still loved paris

i am now in paris and was just in FSH and George V yesterday (yes, on a saturday). i scored my hac 40 and they did have a birkin 30 in stock. forgot about the color, sorry.

i went around closing time and the shop was not as crazy as i thought. i met a great sa in George V who called FSH to reserve the hac 40 for me!

the weather in paris is fantastic right now and will get warmer as summer arrives. i think for the price u paid for travelling, it is definitely worth it. i do feel that birkins are readily available (they r just in the back and that is the case when i asked in germany, in amsterdam and now in paris) it is just depending on your luck and the SA.

Good luck, I think you will be able to get a birkin whilst you are there, the sales will be on also, you should be able to pick up some bargains at the H sale!! It does get busy at the sales, but it is great fun, time in the q does past by a bit slow at times, but it is all part of the experience!! You should go to FSH twice a day and also George V as well and you should strike it lucky!! Have lots of fun!!

thinking about it I´d say...I would fly across the globe for love, and if a Birkin is your love then fly there girl. As with love, it doesn´t always work out, but at least you tried, right?

Your initial post was about savings, but it sounds like the experience of buying at FSH is important to you as well--it is for many, and it is undeniably a thrill.

I think the bottom line is what are you really looking for and how specific your needs are. If you need a particular bag/combo, then you could be setting yourself up for disappointment by making the journey to Paris. In this case, I would do as mistikat suggested and buy from a trusted reseller.

If you are going to try your luck and are willing to compromise on the specs, then by all means go and enjoy the city as part of the experience.

I think that she is not very particular about which H bag she can get. The OP just started a new thread asking what the next popular/desirable bags were if she couldn´t get a Birkin. I would say a trip to Paris with those views may very well end up a success (there must be at least one bag available at FSH, righ;)?)

If you know that you are going to regret it for the next year and will not be visiting Paris for other reasons in the near future then I would say go for it. There are pfrmers and others who fly out to different cities for the H Sale. Heck DH and I flew to Milan for the weekend for their sale, but we do live in Europe and the cost of travelling was offset by the savings we made. If you are not fussy about colours then I hope you will find your Birkin however I would plan my time wisely and decide what is more important for you. I have read here that you have to arrive at FSH pretty early for the Birkin delivery and I have also read that you have to queue pretty early outside the sales location to get into the sales. Given your limited timeframe which would it be the sales or the B?

hmm..honestly, by the sound of it, you just want a Birkin. I agree...it might be hard to get one within 2 days. You might get lucky. But Japan would be the best bet. I personally would not travel to try my luck. I travel either because i love that place or i want too see the world. Afterall, it's a bag. It shouldn't rule your life. I have been to paris twice this year...simply because it's one of my favourite cities. I love the food, especially the sweets there. H is a bonus. ;)

paris is paris but i do not recomend you search for your hermes bag at this particular date and sale because usually all of the best leather products on sale go to what is called last chance (this is when the bag is stampped with a small "s" under the brand stamping)where hermes employees are considered first so i would not recomend you plan a trip around this. but if you are going to be in paris anyway stop by you might be in luck ..... best . birkel
