No, it's not practical to fly to Paris just to get a Birkin that may not be there, but gosh, if the Birkin you want IS there, what a wonderful experience it would be to get it at FSH! If you are in Paris anyway, definitely go by FSH and ask about Birkin availability. Best case scenario, the SA pulls up the computer listing of their inventory, worst case scenario they tell you they have none. At any rate, the experience of being in FSH with all the people and all the beautiful displays is a treat in itself. Good luck!

There are two sales each year. Since this one doesnt' fit well into your schedule, why not plan a trip next year Jan (the winter Les solde)?

Don't let 'birkin' or H be the sole purpose of a holiday. It is too stressful and kill all the fun.

I totally agree with mistikat and most of the ladies comments here, for me, a birkin is not just any random bag (it is not cheap either), so I want to make sure I get the color and leather and size that I want....because that is what H bags all about (of course, not forgetting the superb craftmanship)...hence I will most likely go to a reputable reseller....it is just more practical :D....

However, If I happen to be on a holiday in France (Paris), I will definately pop by to FSH and other H stores...if it is during the SALE period, that is even better...but I won't plan a trip just to get a birkin.

I think at FSH, if an SA do offer you a birkin or 2 or 3...they are going to be really random combos (leather, size and color)...

yes, there are lucky ladies who did get their dream bags, but chances are slim because first of all, you have to be really lucky to catch a birkin there (people goes in and out of FSH 3-4 times a day just to check on birkins), so unless you are really flexible with your choices of a birkin (can take any leather, size, hardware and color), I think it is impractical to just plan a trip just to get a birkin.

My biggest regret is that i did not ask for a Birkins when I was in FSH Hermes and did not step into Hermes Florence last month. I did not read the forum on how to get a Birkins. I stupidly think that I could spot one on the shelf. Second regrets.

Then my friend announce that she has gotton her Birkins 30 Raisin Togo. Make me more regret.

I have been regretting for the past 3 weeks. To make myself, I decide to go Paris for 2 nights for Hermes and some Chanel. Anyway is sales period in Paris. I might get some consolation prize.

There are some promotion going on thus, I will only be spending 500EURO for SQ flight and 2 night accomodations in Paris. Just treat is as a getaway.

OMG, 500EUR for SQ flight and 2 nights?? Heck go to Paris for croissants and coffee!! Have a grand time, and good luck getting your Birkin. Since it's so cheap, it's more about the value of your time and how you prefer to spend it. It's a long way to fly for such a short period of time, but I know I would do it, so why not? Just go if it will only cost ou 500 Euro, and if you have the time. After all, it's Paris. But if you are really desperate for a Birkin, I would say, pay a bit more and get in Japan, or a reseller. When FSH is on sale, it's mad house in there. The SA might not be as patient. Thus, getting a Birkin might be harder? I was in Paris for a week a few weeks ago, there's only 1 black togo 35, and 40 bj. alternatively, get the ostrich. They have it.

Oh, I can settle for a Black togo 35. Really regret that I did not ask for a Birkins when I was in Paris on 12-14 May 2009, therefore I have to make this special trip so that I will have to live in regrets for another year.

Based on my own experience, I think it's pretty hard to find a birkin within two days unless if you can settle with any size, color, leather, hardware.

I am going for Birkins 35. Either in Togo, Clemence or Fjord.

Black is the safest but I dont mind red, grey, purple, pink or even green.

Thus, my acceptance of the bag is quite vast i think.
