Is it possible to get pen marks out of Coach leather?

If the marks are very fresh, Clorox wipes or hairspray will take them out. But older pen marks are almost impossible to get unfortunately. I speak from personal experience. As far as buying the bag anyway, I say it all depends on your personal tolerance for the imperfections.

I haven't tried it, but I would be worried that alcohol might remove some of the color/finish along with it. I dropped a glob of alcohol based hand-sanitizer on a red ergo hobo, and some of the color came off with it, leaving a lighter drip mark all of the way down the side. Many, many layers of conditioning helped blend it in a bit, but I could still see it if I looked for it.

I'm not terribly picky about my bags, so I don't think it would bother me too much if I loved the bag enough. HTH!

I wouldn't buy it. As far as I know, there's nothing that removes pen marks without also damaging the finish. After all, $300 is a lot of money (even if it's a "discounted" price), and for that price, it doesn't seem worth it to buy a damaged bag. I'm sure that Coach will eventually come out with something else in red patent that you'll love.

I have tried hand sanitizer on my patent rose Zoe. It didn't take the finish off but it also didn't take the pen marks off entirely. It did reduce the pen by about half, but left the rest there. I also tried baby wipes, spray and wash and dish detergent (I didn't think any of them would work, but I thought I would give them a shot). Pen mark is still there.

Thanks for the advice, I think I am going to have to pass on this bag then. It seems there is no solution for the pen marks, and after thinking about it, $300 is a lot for a damaged bag.
