I feel like anything with giant logos and too obvious names written along the bag such as Balenciaga or Michael Kors get dated super quickly. I don't think these giant logo designs will last long, definitely not timeless pieces. I feel bad for LV, they're going in the wrong direction producing too many trendy goods recently. Their bags don't look Louis Vuittony anymore, they look more like Gucci with fun colors/shapes/styles, Balenciaga with obvious logos, Botega with puffy bag trend...nothing is classic. Their leather bags don't hold value unfortunately. That's why I am moving toward Chanel, at least their bags are still classic to me.

All of the same things about there being little inventory for canvas pieces were being said about canvas pieces years ago. I could dig up a thread in which people were talking about it, but I really don't have the time or energy.

I actually thought this was the same thread that I remember from years ago until I saw that this one was started in April of this year.

I’ll bite, here are a few…

Yesterday I was at my LV store and while I was waiting for my SA to finish with another client, I was sitting down and people watching. A young lady was looking at the neverfulls. They were showing her neverfulls in leather and designs. She wanted a logo. I saw the SA helping her go and open a drawer and it was completely full of neverfulls. My SA told me that they are slowly starting to come in and will continue to trickle in but LV really is trying to change their look and emphasize on other collections.

It's a bit discouraging to be honest, as someone who's only started collecting because I can finally afford to - as are many people in my position we find LV as a great entry way which will in return make us more loyal customers and make us want to build up our collection more. It seems like LV doesn't really care about this and just trying to market to their big spenders. Fair enough.

I've watched a few avid LV collectors make a few YT videos discussing it. It's pretty across that they would never completely discontinue ALL canvas pieces but will 100% continue to drive up prices and significantly reduce the pieces available, of course they will keep discontinuing SOME canvas pieces but I believe those are just they find not meeting their "target income" eg Damier Azur key pouch and mini pochette is most definitely way less popular than mono or DE - so it does make sense they cut their losses on that canvas which in return will make people want to purchase more of mono/DE.

at the very least they would keep their iconic pieces like the trunks, neverfull etc.
