Is canvas being discontinued??

It's just a rumor to increase sales. I don't think Canvas will ever be discontinued. LV is focusing more on leather to catch up with Chanel.
No one wants their leather lol. I’m not a leather person to begin with but if I suddenly decided I needed leather bags I wouldn’t go to LV. I would go to Chanel or Hermès. They’re barking up the wrong tree.
I feel like anything with giant logos and too obvious names written along the bag such as Balenciaga or Michael Kors get dated super quickly. I don't think these giant logo designs will last long, definitely not timeless pieces. I feel bad for LV, they're going in the wrong direction producing too many trendy goods recently. Their bags don't look Louis Vuittony anymore, they look more like Gucci with fun colors/shapes/styles, Balenciaga with obvious logos, Botega with puffy bag trend...nothing is classic. Their leather bags don't hold value unfortunately. That's why I am moving toward Chanel, at least their bags are still classic to me.
LV leather definitely does not hold its value which is why I would NEVER pay full price for it. I don’t even like leather but if I did I would 100% go for Chanel or Hermès

I think they will just keep the supply at a minimum and raise prices. I remember when I bought my first (non vintage) bag in 2017 - a neverfull - the supply was also really low. Same with the neo noe and some SLGs.
I own 3 LV bags now: two in monogram and one in Damier Ebene and I would love to have a Damier Azure piece but other than that I’m ok with my LV collection.

Not true about resale value in leather. Go to fashionphile and look up “Coussin”. Most pre-owned pieces are at or well above retail. There are also plenty of canvas pieces that sell well below retail. No need to generalize. It depends on the specific piece and it’s demand, not necessarily materials…

Agreed ! It depends on the style and how popular item is rather than the material . Not all canvas bags are selling over retail same applies for leather as well.
There are people who are not fans of lv canvas . Lets face it canvas is nothing but cotton coated with plastic

To be honest in my own opinion that is. After a while on buying luxury items. If your like me that is. You get to a point when you no longer really care about how much the items will lose in value or even speculate its value in the future. I've let go of all that along time ago. If the item is worth more in the future great but if it tanks. So what. I don't really care. I buy what I like and makes me happy regardless. As long as it's well made and is a fairly high end reputable brand Its non important the financial aspect. I'm fortunate in that sense that losses or only buying if it holds a value isn't a deciding factor as I can absorb whatever the losses are be it thru wear and tear or perceived future value etc.. It wouldn't spoil my enjoyment or put me off buying and using the item. It's all part and part of luxury shopping for me. Everyone is different no right and wrong whatever floats your boat.
