I can't afford LV because I am a lover of big bags, and there is no way I could get the size I wanted in lines as expensive as LV *without having to save up for a very long time, and in the meantime I am positive there would be about 50
Coach bags calling my name anyway*.
I'm also not a fan of the colors of their bags. The monogram canvas seems drab to me. It just isn't my style. I will say though, that I did fall in love with the new denim line and would really love a denim speedy, but again when it comes to price, I just can't.
I agree with the others who have said spending that kind of money, for coated canvas, just doesn't seem cost effective. (Of course, there really is no such thing as "cost effective" when it comes to handbag fetishes, I know. *L*) If the bags were fine quality leather all the way through, then I could understand, but canvas...you're just paying for the name I think. I much prefer leather bags.
That being said, I do also understand people's desire to have them. It's like one of those status symbols, that says you are somebody and that you appreciate the best. There is something...I don't know, addictive I guess, about carrying a designer handbag. Especially one so easily recognized. I know for me, I don't like to dress up. I'm normally a jeans, sweatshirt, sneakers, girl and so by carrying a designer bag, it automatically raises me to a higher level I think. It sends that message that, "yes I may be dressed like this today, but I don't always look this way and I do love quality. I'm not a schlub." *L* Even though I'll be the first to admit, I am a schlub, just one with a passion for handbags. I also find that people in shops tend to treat me better if I carry a nice bag.
