Thanks! I forgot to put my scissors away from packaging a bag I sold. I had the strap on the dining table still in package and my toddler decided to unpack it for me and starting cutting it all up! I almost had a heart attack! He luckily isn't strong enough to cut the strap but I was worried he nicked it. I got super lucky that it's fine. View attachment 3991521

Be still your heart!

I know this is not the right thread for this but I need to bvent! I just saw my personal picture of MY MERCER on eBay! It was the picture I posted here when I first received my hologram Mercer. I’ve heard people do this but what a shock to see someone using my picture! :annoyed:

Darn. Yep, had that happen to me before(different object but same idea..) i complained to ebay!

Congrats. This red is absolutely fabulous. How big is it? I am not familiar with this bag — guessing it is smaller than a City Bag or Stewardess Bag. Ok no problem about your other bag (lol, I thought you already received it).
This one is kind of small, but not too small. It is smaller than a city bag but just as deep, about 8 x 7 x 4. It was made during the days that Bonnie Cashin worked at Coach, probably in the early 70s.
OK here is my random purse thought of the day. It is hard to resist buying bags when you start buying a lot for a period of time. I think I have to approach it as follow — my purse-resisting “muscle” (for a lack of a better word) must be trained to be strong or at least back to normal (lol). Like if you break your leg, it gets weak and needs to slowly be trained back to normal function. So that’s what I need to do. I will start slow and go a month at a time so no buying bags for me in March. It’s hard to remember but outside of TPF, our/my level and frequency of bag-buying is not the norm. Anyone who wants to join me (after receiving your already bought goodies) is welcome to do so.
I completely agree. For one thing, if you aren't looking it is easier to resist buying. It is really hard to stop looking. If I'm looking for something particular, it is really easy to get tempted by something else I happen to see during my search. My biggest problem is that I can't resist a bargain. Now that I'm really excited about recent purchases, it is harder to go back on a ban than it was before I bought them. I think if it I had a bad purchase experience, that would help me stay on a ban. Also having trouble selling helps me stay on a ban, but apparently not enough.

Isn’t that why we are here in banned island?

It will get easier, you will find or have found out that not all purses work for you or you just need one of that type. I own one clutch in black and one crossbody because I don’t need or use or really like that type of purse but I have an occasional use for one.

I like totes, they hold a crap load of stuff that I somehow can’t leave home without and then I get to use all my SLG that I have a problem with buying so they don’t become black holes but organized chaos.

And it’s ok to like a purse and even lust them but you have to remember what you have home hidden that closet.

Really goods sales are the hardest things to resist or they can be easy if Coach doesn’t invite you to their sales

This red one is a beauty for sure. Agree — not looking makes it easier to resist but it’s hard not to look (what can I look at as a substitute? Hot celebs perhaps? Housewares?). And I am the same way in that looking for a certain bag, I will find something else. I am as guilty as everyone else here — I got two bags this year already although I absolutely love them (more than some in my current collection). I only have a small amount of unused earnings left. I am really hoping I won’t buy any bags until I sell some (got to list them first) or this summer with BD/Anniv. Anyways, just a gentle reminder mostly to myself (and others if they want) to stay focused on our ban and not get swayed by sales/reveals.

Yep agree. Although lately it has been semi-banned (or in the famous words of whateve, ban peninsula) for me and others. I don’t know if you saw my post earlier this year but I am at a good number finally after selling everything listed. Of course, I had to mess it up by buying my first Longchamp a couple of weeks ago (but I love it more than some of my current bags so it will take over one of my current “slot”). Anyways, yes, I have to remember that I can like a bag but don’t have to buy it (the wise HS said it too) — ok keep repeating it until I mean it

I've been meaning to ask you - now that you have several premium brands, do you still love your Coach bags as much? I'm worried that I'm starting to get a taste of premium bags and that could be expensive.
