I've been meaning to ask you - now that you have several premium brands, do you still love your Coach bags as much? I'm worried that I'm starting to get a taste of premium bags and that could be expensive.

Without a doubt, I love my Coach bags. I am still speed dating all my bags but I love that my Coach bags are/feel like my everyday “workhorse” bags. Yes, once you start buying premier, it is definitely easier to buy more. But I don’t foresee myself getting rid of my remaining Legacy Duffles and Sullivans. I am just not in love with the new/current Coach stuff (because I am too boring and just want basic leather hobos without embellishments — those are far and few between. )

OK here is my random purse thought of the day. It is hard to resist buying bags when you start buying a lot for a period of time. I think I have to approach it as follow — my purse-resisting “muscle” (for a lack of a better word) must be trained to be strong or at least back to normal (lol). Like if you break your leg, it gets weak and needs to slowly be trained back to normal function. So that’s what I need to do. I will start slow and go a month at a time so no buying bags for me in March. It’s hard to remember but outside of TPF, our/my level and frequency of bag-buying is not the norm. Anyone who wants to join me (after receiving your already bought goodies) is welcome to do so.

You're so right! It's so hard to resist when you're looking. I had stopped looking consistently for months. But when I did, I started spending. I still need to show you guys my "rollercoaster" bag. We've had so much rain and gloomy days, I haven't taken a picture. The green tote ended up being a Valentine's day gift from DH, but still, it's a new bag. I returned pink hobo today, but you guys know I have that Faye in my mind... The purse resisting muscle is hard to exercise at times. It's so easy to just let it relax. I am pretty good about using/rotating my bags, but there are still ones that don't get used. I may have gotten 5 new freebies, but I have no business buying anymore bags until I finish dating some others and put more on the chopping block.
Thanks for the gentle reminder, @Iamminda !

I don’t remember your “rollercoaster” bag so am looking forward to your reveal. That’s great that you were gifted a beautiful green tote for Val Day. And good job on returning the pink hobo since it wasn’t love and waiting for/contemplating the pink Faye. I also have no business buying any more bags (although sometimes I feel weak and just want to buy one of the few bags I still want. But just being honest and realistic, once I buy the few bags on my wishlist, I am sure I will find new bags I want). I should seriously just continue to speed date my bags and further downsize (more easily said than done).

I've only mentioned it once, and it was a while ago. It's a HG bag. It should be sunny tomorrow. Hopefully I can take some pictures. No point in telling a story without showing pictures, right?

I've been swimming.

I bought the KH coin purse with the heart and leather sequins. It's really cute and I love it. I have a soft spot for coin purses and this is a nice big one compared to my wee Madison leopard coin purse/key ring. I think I can use it like a wallet because of the card slots inside.

I bought the pink camera bag with the heart but I'm not going to keep it. I think it's adorable and the lining is printed and cute, but I do not think I'll get much use from it. And I wear black and navy a lot so I'm worried about colour transfer from carrying it crossbody.

I need to start working out and strengthening my purse resisting muscle. I'll be joining you, IM, but I will have to let this latest PCE pass by first.

That coin pouch is so cute — there is something so sweet about it. Too bad the camera bag didn’t work out — it is good that you know you will probably get little use from it. I know it is hard to pass on cute/pretty bags even though we know they are not practical or ideal. Happy to hear that you will be joining me a bit on my month-long ban. I think once we get back into a habit of not buying, it will become easier. I was kinda good for a short time — didn’t buy a bag for around 3-4 months and then it started again.

I've been thinking about this as well IM. I had mentioned previously that I am very content carrying my Speedies. Today I am carrying my Speedy B DE and it's such a joy to use. I love how it looks. I went grocery shopping after work and wore it on my shoulder--so handy. Even though there are a lot of people who have had problems with their LV pieces, I've been lucky and so far so good. There's just a few more things I'd like to have from LV, such as a wallet, an Alma, tote and a drawstring bag of some kind.

I keep thinking I might buy fewer Coach pieces now that I'm also purchasing LV. Although it might not seem like it, I have actually bought and returned less Coach since last June. So I feel I've improved a bit. I want to move to the same discipline that I have with LV: just one handbag a year and 2-3 accessories a year (this includes agenda refill, jewelry, SLGs, a scarf hopefully one day).

It's hard though when Coach does not have its line of classics anymore that can be purchased at any time. For example, the Speedy, is much more expensive than it was even 5-10years ago, is still available to buy for those of us who came to LV later in life.

But yet I continue to find myself drawn to Coach. They keep creating new styles, with new finishes and interesting embellishments. I still find their leather products are quite fabulous. The price point is also reasonable for many of their pieces. I think one problem for me is the PCE sales, outlet finds and FOS (although admittedly I've only bought two items from the FOS and the second one was my blue metallic star rivets crossbody pouch). I've got a habit of feeling that I should buy something "on sale." Of course, it's no sale if I just end up quickly selling the item because I'm not using it. It's just too easy to buy.

I think this is something about getting older, we know what works for us and what does not work. I love the pink of the camera bag. But I wasn't sure if the colour and style were quite right for me. If I'm going to wear crossbody (which I don't wear often but when I do) my bag should be in a dark colour. This bag sticks out a bit more compared to some of my other bags so it's best for me to return. I need to be practical in my decision making. Whoops....there goes my age again.

I will have to join you after this PCE and see if I can resist the Peony Rogue.

Our mini-ban is like exercise. Once we get into a good habit and routine, it's easier to maintain. It's just the first few months we will have to encourage each through.

Sure, no problem as to when you will join me on my mini ban — when you are ready. Glad you enjoyed using your lovely SpeedyB today — I always feel like I should try a SpeedyB since it is so classic but am always afraid I can’t do a hand carry bag like that even with the strap. I should borrow my Mom’s vintage Speedy to try it (she doesn’t use it anymore, she offered it to me but I didn’t think I would like it especially since it is quite patina-ed). Ideally i would love to try the discipline you have with your LV purchases — for me, say 1 premier bag, 1 contemporary bag and 1 SLG a year. Can you imagine? I already got my premier and contempory bags this year so I am out of luck with any more bag purchases this year. I should stick with one in and one out (but that is just about as bad since some of my bags don’t sell for months, even up to a year and a half.). Anyways, I hope I do better with my ban this year given that this is my 4th year on the island.
