I like the Chanel flaps myself, quilted black with that beautiful chain strap but it's not in my financial cards, either.Oh yes, the Alma in monogram is a classic beauty. Definitely a great bag to add for you. That’s great that the water spill didn’t do anything to your Speedy. I have read about the Patina Champ method but can’t imagine doing it. But apparently it works! I think the Pallas is beautiful as well — I like that it doesn’t have any vachetta. But the sizes don’t work for me — BB is too small, regular size too big.
I had just edited my last reply to you to tell you about my HG before I saw your reply (I just deleted it and will put it here instead). I think my HG would be a Jumbo Black Chanel Boy. I am so in love with the way it looks but can’t afford it. And even with the jumbo size, I am not sure if it is big enough to hold my stuff. So in the meantime, I am considering a Sully (discontinued monogram hobo but sometimes new ones are listed), a black preloved Chanel shoulder bag/tote (a few different styles), or a new black YSL monogram college bag.
I read a great book called Coco Chanel: The Legend and the Life by Justine Picardie which might interest you. It's packed with photographs and is an outstanding read. (Kind of fulfills the Chanel wants, at least temporarily).
I looked up all your choices and each one is more beautiful than the last! It will be a wonderful thought process to consider each one of these gorgeous pieces.
I thought the Alma would be a good addition as a hand held bag for me. I also like the discontinued Tivoli but that would have to be a preloved purchase. So I'm not too sure.
I love the Pallas as a work bag but I'm so enjoying my Speedies I don't need another work bag unless I sell something (not the Speedies!) The BB is too small as an everyday bag --see, I'm learning!
