I sold a pair of shoes! Finally! Didn't get much for them but at least it was on Tradesy so it won't cost $20 to ship and they won't get returned to me.
That’s great. I never look at the shoe section of the site. Do most people sell new shoes? I just remember I might have some new and never worn shoes but nothing fancy (Born and Naturalizer etc).

I'm the same way with small bags. I have too many. I like a medium sized bag where everything fits comfortably and I can pull one thing out without touching anything else.

Lately, I feel a bit irritated by my “small” bags (Willis, Dakotah, etc). Maybe I am too lazy to clean the junk in my purse but there’s not enough room in my “small” bags.

Yes, people sell both new and used shoes. I think the designer brands go quicker. I listed a pair of Gucci sandals I had gotten in the 80s and they sold immediately. I didn't know what to price them for so I just used their suggested price. The shoes I just sold were Uggs. I still have 4 other pairs of shoes listed - Coach and Ugg, but the Uggs aren't the normal boots so I don't think anyone is interested in them. They are new too. After I bought them, I decided they weren't really that comfortable. It's a shame to lose money on them. I think you would be able to sell your Born and Naturalizer shoes if you didn't price them too high and were willing to wait awhile for a sale. I figure it gives me more money for my purse fund.

I told DH I wished I could make $50 a day selling, and he said that in a year it would be enough to buy three very nice purses.

Me, too. I think I will return the Soho crossbody I purchased a couple of weeks ago. I can't get my agenda, small cardholder, phone and keys to all fit without pressing on the inside of the bag-then you see funny bulges and it doesn't look good against glove tanned leather. I can barely do up the zipper. Those are my absolute minimum during the school year. I can get away with small bags during vacations and holiday time (no agenda). I think I'm trying too hard to make the Soho work.

I should just stick with either a clutch or small-medium to medium-large handbags. Totes are purely functional for me (work, travel) so large bags are not great either for an everyday handbag.

Ok thanks. I will look into it. I am feeling so lazy/tired these days to list more stuff. It’s why I find selling to FP so appealing (for stuff where I am ok with the quotes). But the problem is that now that I have earnings outside of T, I am stalking FP as well :(

Oh bummer that you are returning the Soho but it’s good that you realized this while you can still return. I need to be very realistic these days (no matter how pretty or how coveted an item is). I am trying to make some tough decisions (purse-wise, lol, not life or death, lol) to downsize and maybe get an HG (once I decide what that is).

So my ebay listing goal is failing miserably, I just can't find the time to take pics and hunt down boxes for 20+ bags. I think I might pick 5 bags and send them off to ebay valet. I know I won't make nearly as much but honestly would be happy if I got back $50 for each bag. If it goes decent I might sums out 5 more bags. I have a ton of slgs as well, but I don't think they will take them.

So the Soho might be going back? I agree about bulging glove tanned leather. It doesn't bother me as much with pebbled leather.

I feel bad about the return but for $350 CAN plus taxes on top of that, I think the money could be better saved or spent or what I really need (or want).

I totally agree with you, IM, about being realistic. There's only so many places I go where I can use a certain style bag. I'm also willing to do a one-in, one-out for the right bag.

I have one HG right now which is the LV Alma. I'd also like a Damier Azur bag for summer but I'm just in a holding pattern right now for Louis Vuitton until 2018. I promised myself after my crazy Coach run (2010 till now when I've finally slowed down but even then....) I would only buy one new LV handbag a year unless I came across an incredible preloved find (rare for me as I prefer new).

Yes, I think I'm going to return the Soho. I keep trying different configurations but it drives me crazy trying to make it work. Pebbled leather and coated canvas are much more forgiving.

I've been using my LV pochette to carry my essentials around in my handbag. I wanted the Soho to switch out with it but I'll just keep using the pochette for now.

Agree that the $400 can be better spent on something else. The Alma is such a good classic — what print/material are you thinking of at this point? I really can’t decide what I want next if I had to pick one (if I can get two, one would be an LV).

I don’t know how you would have time with three little ones at home. I agree it is not easy to find the right boxes for certain bags. Perhaps EB valet is the way to go for you. Good luck with it H.

I think I would probably get the Alma in monogram as I love it so much. I don't mind all the vachetta letter and enjoy taking care of it.

I had a bad water spill on Thursday with my monogram Speedy. Water splashed all over the handles but because I had done the patina champ method, and often leave my Speedy (and other monogram pieces) out to pick up some indirect natural light, the water spots faded super quick and it looks like nothing happened! So I feel confident in my ability to manage the vachetta.

I like the Pallas a lot but I want to get another classic bag first. The Petit Noe (or the newer style) is also in the back of my mind. Too many beautiful choices!

I really have to think about what I want my overall LV collection to look like, something I did not do with Coach but am trying to rectify with selling and giving away some bags.

What other brand besides LV would you consider?

Oh yes, the Alma in monogram is a classic beauty. Definitely a great bag to add for you. That’s great that the water spill didn’t do anything to your Speedy. I have read about the Patina Champ method but can’t imagine doing it. But apparently it works! I think the Pallas is beautiful as well — I like that it doesn’t have any vachetta. But the sizes don’t work for me — BB is too small, regular size too big.

I had just edited my last reply to you to tell you about my HG before I saw your reply (I just deleted it and will put it here instead). I think my HG would be a Jumbo Black Chanel Boy. I am so in love with the way it looks but can’t afford it. And even with the jumbo size, I am not sure if it is big enough to hold my stuff. So in the meantime, I am considering a Sully (discontinued monogram hobo but sometimes new ones are listed), a black preloved Chanel shoulder bag/tote (a few different styles), or a new black YSL monogram college bag.
