He wasn't forced, but he was suggested to buy to obtain whatever bag he wanted.

If you haven't experienced that same sales tactic of suggesting to spend in a certain area or 'to work towards', that's fantastic. However, most have as anectodal story after story on this board suggests. I'm more blown away by people still claiming this is not happening and they 'only buy what they love' and magically get offered bags.
To be honest I’ve never had this experience and ive scored my Quota bag without ridiculous sale tactics !

I think that’s sales in general especially where the sales person salary is commissioned based. I’m in the US and anywhere I go, I’ve experienced someone is trying to sell me something.

Car dealership: We can’t get you a discount on this car, but maybe THIS car can be negotiated and we can get you what you want.

Any department store: Do you have the store credit card? If you do, you can get members only access to XYZ or get this limited edition gift.

🙃

This is another example of tying...

Erica and Tania we’re both selling pointers on how to score from Hermès in their subscriptions on ig . It’s very hypocritical for Erica to target Tania ,and she was doing the same thing “scamming people” out of their hard earned money for hermes tips and lies . I really dislike this mean girl behavior online to target someone and yourself was doing the same thing ?
Very interesting about Erica- I did not know that she sold a roadmap! Terrible really.
Anyone here (or anywhere for that matter) actually bought it? Would they come out and say what they thought?

Same. I don't doubt that it exists and I think it depends on the store as well. But I've never felt pressure to buy anything. I have only bought what I really liked. I initially turned down my first Birkin because it had silver hardware, but quickly changed my mind. However, after I purchased it, my SA told me, "don't worry, I'll get you something with gold hardware." Seven months later, I had a B30 in nata with gold hardware. I am not a big spender. Far from it! Mostly shoes, sometimes scarves.

I made the mistake whilst killing time of clicking on a Tamara Kalinic video because the title said something about taking her bag to be Spa'd at FSH.
What a self absorbed vain individual she appeared...there was a section of her trying on various items she'd ordered online Gabriella Hurst,The Row,Brunello etc; She DID look fabulous in the outfits she put together but she just posed around filming herself in a mirror coming across as really full of herself.
Then there was a section where she was at the hairdresser..again talking about herself and her hair colour and products blah blah blah :sleepy:.
I do think shes beautiful and looks great in clothes and shes probably a really nice kind person and all that BUT I just dont get why anyone would want to watch her talking about herself non stop..occasionally dragging her boyfriend/fiancee into the proceedings.
everything seemed so shallow and swimming in vanity.
All I saw was a beautiful wealthy young woman swanning around in front of the camera..good luck to her but I'd rather watch someone who has actually created something or who's done something interesting with their life.
Anyway I know I'm not the target market but it was still an eyeopener.

I wonder if she ever return things she bought for her content purpose. Lots of influencers are not as wealthy as their audience think. They like their followers to think they are successful, that its their everyday lifestyle looking ‘perfect’ everyday 😊 I find it very shallow and unrealistic and tiring to keep up with everything…

This is actually really neat in my opinion!

Blown away! This is the kind of influencer I like.

I saw there was a slight slight stain on the scarf. The scarf was presumably picked-up cheap. What a great way to maximise the longevity of an H scarf.

Looks like she can work for Hermes rtw!

I hope they see it.

I was spoiled, my mother's family were master tailors, and she could make patterns, resize, use a fancy sewing machine. Sadly I didn't inherit that side of the family's gifts (or my mother's Bernina). DH's mother owned a dry-cleaner/repair centre and sometimes even remade linings or reimagined customers old clothes. Professional or amateur, we've lost so much, even while we think we're so much more 'sustainable'.

Her version kinda reminds me of the Etriers Reversible Rib-Trim Jacket

But a lot more cost-effective (although it is 2 jackets for one  ). I wish I could make a little bomber like that, it looked wonderful on her too.

All through the 1980/'90ss, H used to make silk scarf-print jackets, skirts, cardigans etc. Occasionally you can still find them preloved for a good price. Obviously the concept has come back again recently, and it's a tradition that has turned-up on the catwalk intermittently, but I'm not loving most of the prints of late (loved scarf featured RTW JPG era Ex Libris en Cam (2010) and Les Cannes (2012)).

I wonder this as well. I often notice tags on things and wonder if it means they are returning. I also am constantly surprised that influencers “LOVE” everything they try on or get sent even when the things are so ugly. I know it’s their job but I’d think someone who was a bit real would go far with fans. Like “these sunglasses are just so weird looking” because they are ridiculous. But nope. “LOVE THEM!”

I don’t know why but her fake British accent bothers me, and also the model’s poses are too much. She obviously started talking herself too seriously. The interesting thing of the influencers is seeing the items in real life, not modeling like in a fashion magazine.

I read some posts about Tamara on Tattle. She is called boring and fake there.

I would like your insight on something that has me confused. YouTuber and IG Influencer, Claire Chanelle, is a big fan of Hermes and pretty regularly obtains Birkins and Kellys from her local Hermes boutique, which I think is in London. Claire has an amazing Hermes collection and I enjoy her frequent unboxings. In the last few years, she started working for/with the reseller, Luxury Promise. She is listed online as their "Creative Director & Head of Growth." As close as her relationship is with her Hermes SA, they must be aware that she works for a reseller who sells new and preloved Birkins and Kellys, including the hardest to come by bags like the mini-Kelly. I just watched one of their livestreams on YouTube this morning, and they had a lot of the most sought-after bags available for sale. I got the impression many of them were brand new based on the pricing. They were asking just under $30,000 for a mini-Kelly. Luxury Promise also sells bags via their online website. The reason I am confused is I thought Hermes was against reselling, especially bags that are new/fresh from the boutique, but this doesn't seem to have had any effect on Claire obtaining new bags from her local Hermes. Does this mean Hermes doesn't frown on resellers now? Maybe Hermes policies have changed, and they no longer mind selling to customers who work for resellers?
