Influencers and Hermes

I’d like to add I would really love it if influencers would stop normalizing buying 10k hermes or Chanel bags, Chanel Rtw, 40k Tiffany jewelry or Hermes exotics. It’s not normal people. Just look around. Nobody irl is running around dripped in expensive jewelry and croc bags. And for what reason? Do they need to seek validation? If so that’s really sad. These people have shopping addictions and they are insane.
I totally agree. I’ve been doing some snooping on the reddit threads and I don’t mean to shame others or judge financials, but very young girls are getting into debt so they can have these pieces. Some are draining their life savings in pre spend.

This is one of my issues with fakes and why I’m semi glad the fake birkin slayer does what they do.

I’ve only seen birkins in the wild a few times in my life and they’ve all been in high end hotels in fancy areas like the Hamptons, Paris, lake Como, Miami (although most I see in Miami are fake). Never out and about on an American street. It kind of makes me want to keep mine in the closet until I’m on a trip. over the past few years tho, I have definitely seen an uptick in Chanel and Saint Laurent and Prada bags. I’ve never seen so many in my life until now and I think it is influencer culture.

I have definitely seen Hermes bags in Manhattan when I traveled there

They will the day brands stop approaching them and pushing products onto them to promote.
They are doing it because this is what brands want out of them. Just another PR and marketing job, cos it IS a job.
Most of them are getting paid, free merch, deep discounts etc.
The real crazies are out there doing the same on their own dime!

Ya knowww… I never actually buy products endorsed by influencers nor I actually influenced by what they carry and wear. I mainly check them out on their instagram for the picture perfect pose and see if its suit me with what I have in my wardrobe hahaha. Everyone have their own unique style and wear what they are comfortable with. Being candid is the best and more natural hence the picture will come alive itself. You practically can buy everything material in the world but you cant buy style and taste! 😅

One of my fav influencers: Wisdm
His style is impeccable! I loveeee how he styled his new Amethyst Croc Birkin. It’s gorgeous! He also got a HAC recently, both preloved i believe. But this video honestly surprised me at how much PR packages influencers can get from designer brands!

He got La Mer products???
Anyways. I am not surprised at all by the amount of products brands give. Anyone who actually follows influencers with a good eye and a critical brain would know this, instead of hate-watching them or gawking at them. The more upfront will show and tell straight up just like Wisdm here.
The worst is during Vlogmas hands down...

People are only shocked because influencers nowadays are less hypocritical and slimy and more transparent about it than fashion editors used to be back in the grand old days of fashion magazines...

Yes it’s refreshing to see influencers be transparent about what is gifted. I can appreciate his post also because he has styled the gifted products so well.

I don’t follow a lot of big influencers that get a bunch of luxury PR packages. I tend to gravitate towards smaller influencers who are a lot more open with their opinions on brands, have unique style, and aren’t just promoting the new so-called “it” item or look.

But i must admit, i do occasionally watch some of the big influencers who are always posting an H unboxing or going to the H fashion shows decked out in full H RTW and a fresh new mini Kelly! I appreciate the eye-candy and the access they have that smaller influencers don’t.
