i voted for violet because this color, from pictures, looks so gorgeous and it is definitely be hard to find now, let alone later... and i think that a brightly colored bag does go with a lot -- i'm often surprised what a great neutral rouge vif is and how well it goes with so many things. on the other hand, a ivory GSH would be really beautiful too! my mom has a GGH white from SS and gets compliments all the time.

I voted for Ivory, since you said you aren't concerned about the dirtiness issues with a light colored bag. It sounds like it's really what you want and would be more likely to get use out of.

I'm with catcat though, and might think about another neutral altogether instead of ivory. If you really do want to use it frequently, I just think ivory will be tough to maintain. I have two ivory coats and feel like I'm constantly getting them cleaned.
