Has the seller been of any help? Did they respond to your messages? I'm wondering what their policy is for this type of situation.

I'm wondering if you should get your credit card company involved ASAP? (Or PayPal)

Hopefully someone who's been through this before can guide you through it because this is a freaking disaster!

Could you imagine if the purse is indeed real authentic H and they destroy it ? I hope that they do a second look at it before it gets to that point just to be sure. I don't own any H so I'm not sure how it works.

We're all here for you. I know you must be devastated! I would be beside myself over this. Hugs! Xo

Devils advocate ... if the bag is indeed authentic but Paris mis-identifies it and destroys it, who should be out the money? Honestly I don’t have a good answer for this as it seems extremely unfair to both OP and the original seller to have either be at a loss for an authentic item.

Exactly. This is what I'm concerned about. We're all human and everyone makes mistakes from time to time but it would be seriously terrible if the op loses a real bag over a mistake. :(

Here's the thing: You can't really authenticate an Hermes bag from photographs. There are fakes so good that they can only be shown as fake when examined by a top expert in person. Some of those bags are actually made by former Hermes leather artisans.

You should contact your CC company or Paypal or what have you and file a claim. Hermes has already declared your bag a fake, and their word is final. So sorry it happened to you.

That’s not entirely true, Hermes word is not final as I have first hand knowledge of that regarding my own bag which was very Vintage. I did receive a formal apology and the spa treatment at no charge.

How long did this process take?( From the time you sent it until the whole ordeal was over with) I'm just curious.
Anyway I'm glad it worked out for you! I hope the op has similar luck and is able to get her purse back.

Pardon my ignorance here but perhaps i am missing some key details not posted hence my reason for chiming in with these questions - why is it being assumed that Paris Hermes HQ is in the wrong here? Looks like there is wave of optimism that Hermes will reauthenticate the bag and say “oops my bad, just kidding not fake”. Are there other witnesses that the bag is not fake besides the reseller/authenticator?

When it comes to buying preowned bags, are 3rd part authenticators ultimately infallible? As in is it impossible that they too could be wrong the same way it’s inferred already that Paris got this one one wrong? I honestly don’t know missed the mark here between Paris HQ or 3rd party authenticator. I’m just curious why this seems to all be obvious Paris fault. What am I missing?

Most brands, especially the high end luxury brands stand by their products no matter how limited, rare or worn out it is. Is it unreasonable to think Paris would be extra cautious in absolving itself of potential liability and be diligent in its process of declaring a bag fake.

It’s not my intention to hijack the OP’s thread. I just wanted to share my experience and correct the statement Hermes final say.

Rouge H, would you mind sharing how the process went with your bag? Who said it was fake, and who did you appeal to who had the final say? Just curious how this works.

@miss argile Thank you for your kind words. I share your love for mou sellier K. I call the style Ms K. Hopefully my Ms K's journey has a happy ending.

@tonkamama I've PM'd you the name of the reseller and thanks for sharing your thoughts. After receiving After-sales' email I got in touch with the reseller immediately and asked for her help. Unfortunate the bag was not sold with original purchase document. But she was able to provide the set of pictures which were used for authentication. I've forwarded those pics along with @bababebi certificate to the store manager. Now I'm waiting to see what the next step looks like.

Could you also please share with me the name of the reseller? I also have a vintage K from a reputable reseller that was authenticated by Bababebi. This worries me. Thanks.

Paris has been wrong plenty of times. So have authenticators (I am not aware of any time that has applies to bababebi, though).
I heard a scarf salesperson at Madison call my SO Kelly a fake to her colleague. I don't think she knew I heard. She's not an artisan, but a pretty swift jump to a very wrong judgment. (She lost out on a sale from that, too....).

Without more knowledge of the facts I would not be surprised at all if someone at Paris HQ was unfamiliar with sellier mou.

I'm just super concerned for the OP here. It must be so stressful.
