I’m getting my Chanel bag painted!

Yeah I mean look, ultimately, I think everyone should be free to do what they want with their items. I truly hope anyone who gets their bag painted loves the bag afterwards and gets exactly what they wanted  I am eager to see the final result. I just personally wouldn't do it nor do I think others should. However, I MORESO believe someone should do what makes them TRULY HAPPY.

Like, if I had some total jerk or abusive ex husband buy me a Himalayan Birkin, the smart thing might be to sell it but I'd probably be HAPPIER burning it and saying F the $. So to each their own LOL. I hope I wasn't insulting in any way, I just wasn't sure if the original poster wanted everyones opinions or just positive feedback. If she only wanted positive feedback then I have to apologize and wish her the best  lol

Not insulting in my opinion! And I would fully support you in the burning under circumstances like that!

I started it because:

I thought a post about my Chanel purse would be relevant on Purseblog.

I’m actually enjoying the discussion this topic is creating.

I’m a big girl that can handle criticism.

I thought it would be fun to start a thread that didn’t begin with the words “New bag reveal!” or “Chanel quality is going downhill!”

I know the mock-up is not the best, but I’ve seen enough of the artist’s work to get an idea of what the final product would look like.
I'll believe it when I see the final result. I hope you post it rather than leaving everyone hanging. When is it expected to be done?

Not sure if I’m reading this correctly, but are you comparing commissioned artwork to petty vandalism?

Maybe the people at Chanel will be insulted, but I mean, I don’t really care? Chanel got their money, and the bag is legally my property, so I can do with it as I please.

I should walk in to Chanel after I get my bag and see how many SAs look disgusted
While I don't agree with Akilllaa's points about offending the House of Chanel or whatever (Again, it's your bag - you own it and do what you want with it, even if my tastes don't agree with you), I would caution you to be careful about flaunting it around the Chanel powers that be. Apparently Chanel does think that they have a say in what one does with the items that are purchased from their stores. I know someone who is now banned from buying for Chanel for selling a single item of hers that she no longer uses. They flagged her as a reseller. So...if you buy new, just something to think about.

Is your Chanel bag damaged? I had (or maybe still have) YSL Downtown tote that my local cobbler handled, right in front of me without permission with brown leather polish on his hands. A perfect beautiful ivory bag. He ruined it, and further ruined it attempting to undo his stupidity. I had to send it off to a specialist to attempt repair. It looked fine, but I knew it had put through the ringer, I was sick and angry. Anyway, I always thought to ask an artist friend to paint an image of some sort and just use it. But a perfectly kept bag, no. I need to see if I've sold it (with disclosure - I had listed to sell). I can't remember. But if I still have it, I'm revisiting the idea. Good luck and do share the results.
Did the cobbler pay for the repair?
