I just purchased this bag secondhand, but I’m having trouble trying to date it and find the style name. When I did a reverse image search, I found one result of an identical bag with the title “Enamel Mini Boston,” although when I search for the mini Boston, it appears most don’t have the front pocket mine has. The only tag is a small "Coach Poppy" label. It's roughly 10" x 5" not including the straps. Any help is appreciated, thanks!!

It looks like a Poppy. Can we see a picture of the lining? I am surprised a bag that big wouldn't have a creed.

Hi - I bought this Coach bag in the late 1960s or early 1970s - can't remember, I'm old......lol. I can't find its name anywhere - can you help? It's a nice supple thick leather cross body....strap is about 44" long, purse is 10" long, 3" deep, 9" wide in British Tan. It has a working spring lock, back pocket, front pocket, interior zip pocket, all brass hardware and the Coach tag inside says No. 014-3147. I also want to find a leather dye to restore the fading color. Thanks for any help!

It's a scout bag made in the early 1990s. Before you consider dyeing it, visit our rehab club. I think you can restore it quite well without resorting to dye. You can always try dye in that doesn't work. The ladies in the rehab club will help you pick the correct dye if needed.

The back of the tag says made in China if that helps at all. Thanks!!
I'm having trouble identifying it. It looks similar to styles that were released around 2011-2012 but I can't find this specific one. I don't know if Coach would have used the name "Boston" for one of their bags as I think that is a trademark of Gucci.

Thanks so much for the info! So the number inside the bag means nothing? Now that I know what style it is, I can see that people have it listed as #9890? Not 014-3147 which I tried to use to look it up......thanks again!

You're welcome! Bags made before 1994 had random numbers rather than any information about the bag. Starting in 1994, the digits after the dash indicate the style number. The numbers before the dash indicate where and when the bag was made. Yes, the scout bag is style #9890.

I don't know the name of the style either other than that it's from the Poppy collection.

A lot of sellers use "Boston" to describe satchels but Boston definitely isn't part of the style name and as @whateve said, I too think it's a Gucci trademark.

I've found patent leather (or maybe it's called liquid gloss) poppy bags with pushlocks but most have double front locks.

This isn't the same style but has the same lining and pushlock:

I don't doubt authenticity but I can't find a single other bag of that style. I too am surprised there's no creed but I'm still comfortable in saying that it's genuine.

exactly my thoughts!

Can anyone offer more of a description on this bag? This came up on the Japan link on Mercari, called "Buyee". I can't figure out how to post a link to the specific listing there but if you search Vintage coach bag and sort high price to low it is right at the top.

People call this a Pony Express bag. It is always listed at $1K+. It has the stripe anniversary lining.

I rarely see this but it seems very desirable... why?

It is desirable because it is pony express inspired. Plus anything with the anniversary lining is usually popular. It was a limited edition. They didn't make many of these. You almost never see them. I think the hangtag should be marked Bleecker Street limited edition. It is a better size than the 2012 Legacy Pony Express inspired bag. I don't know why Coach doesn't make more Pony Express inspired styles since it is so desirable.

12805 is a Bleecker Street limited edition called Leather Erin.

Here's Coach's stock image:
