^It appears that most of TVD cast will be at the event. I hope we're wrong about losing his ISF supporters because of his personal relationships. If he starts taking Nina to all of his awareness/fundraising galas, the girls will find somewhere else to go.
Empoweresque is a celebration...
An awakening of the uniqueness and power within women.
If you think being sexy is akin to throwing on a pair of heels, think again...
It's about the woman within knowing that SHE has the power to change the world.
It's not what you look like.
It's not about your size, age, colour or faith.
It's who you ARE.
It’s your passion, your strength and your ability to inspire and lead change not just within yourself, but within others.
It's about awakening your divine femininity and becoming an "Empoweress."
This awakening within yourself will forever change you, and uniting empowered women will forever change the world.
Historically, we've seen phenomenal female change makers. These women "stand up and stand out", but why must they stand up as ONE woman when we can "stand up & stand out" together to radically transform the world as one UNITED divine force?
What are you waiting for?
Join us as we unite empowered women who will forever change the world.
It will be interesting to see the evolution with ISF, from talk to action. Being solicited to women and teenage girls is quite limiting."The IS Foundation aims to empower, educate and collaborate with people and projects to positively impact the planet and its creatures."
I think what bothers me about the October ISF event is that it's the same weekend as TVD EyeCon. The people (primarily women) going to that event (EyeCon) will be going to "Empoweresque" just to see Ian, not for the ISF. Most of them can care less as it does not effect their daily lives. Let's face it...kids/teens (and a LOT of adults) are for the most part selfish. I have 3 teens myself, so I get to witness this on a daily basis.
You're right about Empoweresque. I think the same thing is with STSH event. I'm sure there are fans who are genuinely interested in that cause but their percentage is not very high.
TBH I don't know what to think of Empoweresque. I hope it's a big success because if it's not, well I don't want to be in Ian's shoes. What worries me is that EyeCon is heavily involved in organization in one way or another. TVD EyeCon was such a mess and a lot of people were more than bitter about it. Vee and Red, people who run vampire-diaries.net, said that they won't promote nor support any EyeCon event. I think that says a lot.
Here is what the ISF website says "Empoweresque" is:
Seriously, this feels more like women empowerment event. :feministI couldn't resist to this smiley
) I mean that's OK but what this has to do with goals of ISF - animals, conservation and clean energy?
Since before the foundation was formed, I was confused about the purpose. Personally I need something more focused. Like...with STHS, I know that my dollars are going to help with the needs of the animal community in St. Tammany Parish, LA. It's not just informational. I can see the direct results with how many more "spay/neuter days" they can have.
ISF has to make a mark in one topic and then maybe slowly expand to similar topics.
So far...with ISF, all I can see is information given as of now. It will be interesting to see the evolution with ISF, from talk to action. Being solicited to women and teenage girls is quite limiting.
If ISF people don't change their game, I don't see ISF lasting after TVD runs its course.
I think I'll go listen to Deepak Chopra speak on October 7th. He'll be at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts center.
Please let me know how it went. Do you know the topic?
New promo art for Season 3. Interesting concept and I really like it. Klaus looks the best IMO.
