I was just wondering what kind if commission do Chanel SA receive?

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

'Elite, Potential VIP, VIP, VVIP'

How much do you have to spend for each status?
There is no specific formula BUT a decently lengthy history of buying RTW and high jewelry is a must. Leather goods, costume jewelry and shoes do not count towards status. I am just now VIP after 7 years of buying - maybe I spend 50k a year on RTW? Not THAT much. I spend way more on bags, but it doesn’t count.

Ha! I never thought to ask but I do know that Vancouver’s high end stores can be a joke when it comes to offering champagne, coffee, macarons!! Guess I’m not a big spender

Dior though always make a point in asking me if I’d like water or sparkling water and I really appreciate the gesture when they do it. I really like their service
I've been to other high end stores and I've never been offered anything other than just bottled water. My mom asked for hot water at Van Cleef and Arpels (#asianmoms), and they gave it to her in a really nice ceramic cup, so they should have the stuff to make coffee/teas.

I could be wrong because this was last year - but I think leather goods do count towards client status because I was at Elite and close to being PVIP… and I have only ever purchased leather goods - so unless they changed the policy, I believe leather goods do count. I found out about the different statuses last year when my SA had sent me a gift for the holidays; there are different gifts depending on which tier you’re in. She said that you have to continue to spend a certain amount yearly or you could lose your “status”. To be honest I don’t think I’ve spent as much as I did last year, and haven’t bothered to check where I’m at lol

Interesting…do you remember what gift signified what status?

This is first time I heard about client status. How could you check that?

Does anyone know if SAs get commission for Fine Jewelry? I was just browsing the Chanel website and almost purchased a couple of Coco Crush pieces, but if SAs get commission for it I rather buy it with my SA in person instead. :-s It is probably not as much as high jewelry but a little is better than zero in my opinion.

Each boutique has their own status system also. They have gifts to give during holidays or birthdays that don't come from Chanel corp...

I wasn’t aware of that, I thought it was the same across all stores. Thank you for clarifying though! I guess it makes sense being that Chanel policy is all over the place and very inconsistent at times lol.

I’m sure VIPs are privy to many exclusive goodies that only us “commoners” could dream of lol. Like that giant compact mirror set that came with lip glosses some time ago - would have loved to get that… though most likely impossible on my nurse salary lol. But honestly, I don’t mind that my gift was not from Chanel Corp, that never even crossed my mind - I was just ecstatic that I received a gift. They could send me toilet paper and I would be happy lmao.

They don’t do anything that is amazing really, I’d rather just have better quality & selection than gifts or status! (And consistency).
