Any updates? Pics? Splurges? Decisions????!!!!

I need some good news.......had a pissy day........my back, head, and jaw are killing me.

Someone....distract me!

Swanky, have you seen the Paris ring in person?

LOL!!

I tried it on and loved it as I expected. I'll post a couple of unduhcovah pics I took as the store doesn't allow photography. Thankfully the one they had to try on had a good sized stone set in it so it could give me a decent idea of what mine would look like.
My only issue is the pave on the sides would rub on my bands. So I think I may have something custom made. The hubs isn't home to hash this out w/ me right now.
One pic on my finger w/ my uberteeny band and the other lying next to my temp ring - you can see how chunky my prongs are now:rolleyes:

ohh yea, I LOOOOVE this. LOVE. I would see if Michael B (whoever the maker is) would eliminate a row or two of pave or something on each sides outer edge?

The jeweler spoke to them, they were not happy at all to modify it. Saying it would no longer look like a Michael B and maybe not warranty it{?}
Let me go read the e-mail again . . .

The jeweler suggested only having pave on the outside of the ring and not on the inside that would butt up to my eternity rings.
Not sure why they think I want anything "high polished" . . . . Swanky is very much against "high polish", I prefer some milgraining or or light engraving but whatever . . . :p

Excerpt:

I spoke with our shop manager and he was very, very opposed to the idea of leaving one side of the PARIS ring high polished. Keep in mind that if the band she wears is MICHAEL B., it will match up against the mounting and she should not have any problems with the diamonds or beads wearing on each other. Furthermore, should we leave one side high polish, scratches will be more noticeable. Finally, the shop manager felt that this modification would not make the ring look like a “MICHAEL B. creation”- it would look unbalanced and unsymmetrical.

Ultimately, we will accommodate your request; however, the shop feels quite strongly against it and as such, we will not be able to make any returns on this product.

VERY pretty Swanky!!! I must say this setting really does showcase the centre stone- I'm normally "anti-pave" everywhere, but this is different.

So....does this mean you have to splurge for a Michael B band as well???

And is this IT?? Are you saying "YES to the ring setting"????!!!!!!

See I am not saying only leave ONE side undone. I am saying both sides. Say there are 5 rows of pave. Omit the outer two, and now it's 3. Still symmetrical.

Or just do the top and leave the sides bare?

Overall their reaction is...odd.

Contessa, this is it, sort of :D The head is perfect, the sides of the shank aren't because I wanna stack bands. So looks like I'm headed towards custom, I'm waiting for a quote from my local jeweler.

Ame, no I agree. My SA misunderstood and hence miscommunicated what I want to Michael B. :push:
And she was pretty shocked by they're reaction anyhow.

What I am asking for a quote for is making a head like/similar the Michael B/LM, pic #1 & 2 and then sides/shank like pic #3.
KWIM?
