I don't know why people say things like they can't afford LV so they buy Coach

I really like my Coach bags, I take very good care of all my bags. While it's also true that I cannot afford LV so I bought more affordable brands. I am not ashamed to say this. Nowadays I am thinking of stop spending money other bags and save up for preloved lv or other brand. As long as the preloved LV is in good condition. LV speedy and Noe in epi leather is so classic and timeless! I will still carry my old bags even when I have LV. Each bag or brand has its own beauty.

I don't care people can buy what they want. I would rather have a nice Coach leather purse than a LV coated canvas or whatever that speedy or neverfull is made if. Plus i've always found them rather ugly imho. Why spend 3000 on a bag? I could have a nice beach vacation for that. Thats my opinion.

I love Coach designs and how they look, not because they are more expensive than some brands but I know there is a lot of purse snobbery from people that only carry the higher end brands but personally I like Coach better. I am not just saying this because I can't afford nor would I want to spend thousands on a purse. I particularly don't understand the LV thing. I honestly think they are so ugly, every style and color I have seen except for maybe the denim. Does anyone else think these bags are super ugly ? Coach rocks :jammin:
Hi Glitter Girl, Thanks for sharing your perspective on LV. I too have wondered why people spend 1000s on a piece of canvas that isn't even bright or cheerful. I now know you and others also think the same. I don't have experience with LV owners being snobbish and so will not comment on that but i think this forum would be a good place to freely share our opinions about pros and cons of different brands. Thanks again and yes, COACH Rocks!!!

I too was surprised how old this thread is! For many people I think their love of LV stems from the very history of the company and how it started....I know that's what intrigues me about it.
There is definitely room in my heart for many different brands for different reasons.

I say "vive le difference"!!

Carry what you love, and anyone who doesn't like it, for any reason, can go kick rocks. Strangers on the internet spouting nonsense don't matter, and friends in the real world who judge you may not necessarily be the best influence on your life.

Agreed! I know there are people who are easily swayed by others opinions for whatever reason....maybe they're young and don't know their own mind yet, maybe they're insecure in their own decisions......who knows?

I think once you reach a certain age you DO know your own mind and your own tastes because you've "tested" many different brands and now know what you like.
And even then mistakes can be made.

Bottom line is that this isn't affecting mankind in any adverse way, it's just personal preference for a handbag. And we all know that those feelings can sometimes be fleeting.
It's a woman's choice to change her mind, right?:D

You are right, and I do tend to forget that not everyone is as confident in their in their handbag choices as I've somehow magically been my whole life (my lavender mini duffle with a unicorn on the front was awesome in the 80's). :shrugs:

When I make a mistake these days (and it certainly does happen; there's no way to tell if something will work for you if you can't examine it in person, and living in the middle of nowhere, there are no high end boutiques closer than a seven hour round trip down to Boston), I return or resell.

Exactly; this is such a first-world problem that I can't believe so many ladies spend so much time worrying about it. As for changing minds about bags, if you look up "fickle" in the dictionary, you'll find my picture.

I have heard this many times among friends and I have been wondering why. So one day I asked one friend why she didn't buy preloved LV if she likes LV so much. She said she couldn't accept used items so she bought coach because coach always have sales which will end up cheaper than preloved LV. She has a good point! [emoji3]

To each their own. I'd say buy whatever u like that's within your budget. It can be Kipling, coach, whatever. As long as u love carrying your bag, that is what matters.

And my picture would be right there next to you! And that's o.k.
Sometimes we find just the right bag, other times it doesn't work out for whatever reason. It's trial and error for sure.

I do think that carrying a bag everyday is an important part of our "outfit" and can make our lives easier. When we find just the right bag it's like an epiphany of sorts!
I think it's fun to explore the different brands and find what works for us.....certainly not life changing in the whole scheme of things but fun nonetheless!!!!
