I don't know why people say things like they can't afford LV so they buy Coach

I don't think it is okay to question why some people are snobby about Coach, and then at the same time you put down another brand- namely LV. Maybe I am reading it incorrectly but it seems hypocritical, and not the greatest idea to trash a brand seeing as there are MANY people on this forum who love LV. I happen to like both Coach and LV.

Agree totally with this. This was really not a well worded way to start a thread, at all.
LV is the largest and most active board on tPF. You HAD to know this was gonna piss some folks off. :confused1:

I like them both. I started with Coach, progressed to LV and beyond. Most people take the same road. You never know what you'll like in five years.

um obviously you can get like 5 coach bags for the price of one louis vuittion.. there's no brain science required here.

personally i am just a 16 year old and im fine with my mom just buying me coach.. i want to move on to gucci and chanel later on though.

Ha ha ha...how the times have changed!
When I was 16 the only bag I carried was my school bag...and I'm pretty sure had I been 'fine with just a coach' my Mum would have directed me to the closest McDonalds so I could discover the joys of buying it myself!
LOL...fine with just a Coach...that cracks me up! :roflmfao:

I carry LV. It is not my favorite brand but I do like it very much. The bag has held up for years and is still going strong. Hope that helps you understand why people like LV. And as for the previous poster, you are right, sometimes we do need to put things into perspective.

When I was 16 I carried Esprit...

If I would have asked my mom for Coach when I was 16, the response would have been :roflmfao:

I remember when I was about 13 and desperately pleading for a pair of Adidas sneakers.
My Mum's response was (and I'll never forget it!)
"There is no way on God's green earth I am paying $30 for shoes that you can't even wear to Mass on Sunday!"
and that was the end of it! ;)

Yes this is exactly what I am talking about. The oringinal intent of my post was to point out that people say things like they started out with coach and "progressed" to other things. Then I went on to say that I didn't see it as a steppingstone, as I thought lv's were not as appealing as Coach. Thank you for proving my point

I want it to go away too ! I don't know why I feel the need to defend myself. People keep repeating what other people have said already but i guess that is what freedom of speech is all about. It is funny, I told my husband about the whole thing and he said "isn't it a Coach forum"? Yes I think this thread should end too !

Completely OT- Glitter Girl- but on your myspace you state you're a bone marrow donor. I thank you for that. My dad has been awaiting a transplant and matching donor for many, many years. Still no luck. Thanks for promoting testing and donation.

You are welcome and thank you for saying that ! I hope your dad finds a match and I will be praying that he does. It is something I strongly believe in. I became a donor about 15 years ago when a child in the community was ill (lynn mass) the child's parents held a drive for people to be tested. Now I always remember to update my info so that if someone needs to find me they can. When I recently heard the story about baby Giovani, it really affected me and I wanted to get the word out for people to just get tested because a match could be out there somewhere. I wish you , your dad and your family the best and I appreciate you posting this !

Haha when I was in high school I carried cheapo $15 black plasticy bags from Mandees, you know the ones that had like butterflies on it? When I was 15 I really wanted a pair of Doc Martins. I had to save up the $100 myself because my mom wouldn't buy them for me. My friends and I were like skittles. I had the navy blue, one friend had the maroon, another the black and the other green. I still have them to this day and use them as my "shoveling snow" boots.
