I own a number of brands, including Coach and LV. I really vary in what I love, depending on my mood. I go through phases where I have no interest in a certain bag and obsess about something different. I think variety keeps things interesting!

I have always been and will always be a Coach girl. At first, I didn't care for LV. Especially with the whole fab of the multi-color one (the fad that Jessica Simpson started). I thought they looked cheesy and plastic. But over the last few months, I have been in lust with the speedy 30. In the brown. Ironically, I just read about 20 minutes ago that there is new Coach bag coming out, signature stripe, that is coming in a style similar to the speedy!!!! And to be honest, that is really all I liked about it, was the shape. Not necessarily the actual LV pattern. Needless, to say I am stoked about this new bag!

I heart coach. It is classic and I love the vintage, yet modern look of the leather.

I don't know where someone got the idea that quite often Coach threads are bashing LV...this is the first one of these that I've seen in here. Of course, I've only been a member since January but it certainly isn't a normal happening. Now in the regular general handbag part of the forum, I have seen quite a few people rag on Coach and D&B. That does happen quite often.

Normally in the Coach forum, we're all discussing Coach, not other brands. Maybe I'm just missing something. Dunno.

I do think it's weird though, that people who normally never post in here, came in here just to post in this thread.

I think everyone feels a need to defend their favorite brand whenever it's attacked. As is evidenced by this thread, it isn't just the Coach lovers. Just my 2 cents, for what it's worth.

IMO: Coach bags are expensive too, kwim? $498 for a bag is NOT cheap. So nobody can say that Coach is cheap, really. Seriously. Because how many people living below poverty level can afford to buy Coach bags? And REALLY, how many middle class people can buy them-- REALLY buy them, not just put them on a CC and pay it off gradually? I mean, my mom for example. My father has plenty of money and she thinks paying hundreds of dollars for a Coach bag is ridiculous and can't see anybody but celebrities buying a bag for that much. Coach and LV and Prada and Burberry and Gucci are ALL expensive.

But IMO price doesn't matter. Love it? Carry it. Not a fan? Find something else, kwim?

I don't like when I see threads bashing Coach bags so I don't bash other brands either. Every brand or designer makes something that someone is going to think is ugly. That's life. I think if one were curious about the appeal of a certain designer or brand, it may be best to spend time in that particular forum to learn some things about it. What is its history? How is it made or crafted? What styles are there? I may not carry all the designers or brands that are out there but I appreciate the craftsmanship and the heritage of them first and foremost and I am respectful of those who may like something that I don't.
