Why, fabuleux? Back in the 80's, brass was hugely popular in home decor. I should know...my parents had tons of it lol. The thing I remember the most about it is how my mom kept it polished so shiny...she DETESTED tarnished brass :/

I'm going to keep it for now. When I have the lock midsection it doesn't look quite as bad. She's my work bag but thanks for letting me know that they might change it out for free!

I could be wrong here but it seems to me that most of the bags with the worst mis-matched hardware are in the DE print for some strange reason.
Perhaps those of you with the Speedy B in mono can verify or deny this?

Your lock says made in France, doesn't it? That's probably because the France factory that makes the locks and the clips for the strap don't have the same color gold paint as the Chinese factories that most likely make all the other hardware...

Didn't we already go over this and that I mentioned that it doesn't really bother me? I'm confused. My bag and lock are both made in France from a LV Boutique, so it's authentic. I'm not sure what you mean or why you are comparing LV to China factories? LV does no business with China, you might be thinking of Michael Kors or Coach?

OK, thanks. I know the post started about the neverfull & then there was mention of the Speedy but I guess it failed to register that it was primarily regarding the DE and/or the older model. In any event, I'll make sure when I purchase my Speedy B 30 in mono that I make a close observation of the hardware :) Thanks!

Hi gabsandme, I know sorry that I posted the picture of my Speedy and all of the controversy that it has received. I didn't want to take over your thread but just pointing out that I think it's normal on your Neverfull. It's a great bag and I think you are going to love it! You are correct it seems to be more Speedy B's in DE with the hardware issue so you might be ok with a monogram new model and maybe all new model DE's not sure :-)
