I Can't Believe This More Mismatched Hardware

Your lock says made in France, doesn't it? That's probably because the France factory that makes the locks and the clips for the strap don't have the same color gold paint as the Chinese factories that most likely make all the other hardware...

No hardware is made in China.

Are you sure? Who knows with all the cost cutting lately... There was this book that was published recently that showed that most major luxury premier designers manufactured most materials in China and then just put the finished product together in France, Italy, Spain, etc. to be able for the item to pass as being made in those countries... And if they are making their "plated" (more like spray-painted because it chips so easily on the newer Cles keyrings, I even saw one in the store with a chip in it on the Cles rack or whatever you wanna call it) hardware in the same place then WTH can't they get it to match??? I just don't get it....

Speculation and comments in a book about luxury manufacturing don't make it true that LV uses Chinese factories for its hardware.

I never said it did, but it also doesn't mean that they don't. No one on here really knows for sure unless they're currently work for the manufacturing part of LVS.

Yes. I am certain. And reviving this rumor every other thread does not make it true.

I didn't mention this on any other thread afaik... And I never said it was true for sure, I said it MIGHT BE but there's no way I will ever know for sure. Anyways, then if it's all made in the same place there's absolutely NO EXCUSE for the reason as to why LV can't get their hardware to match.

Who knows for sure? Maybe the hardware is manufactured in different countries or maybe it isn't. What intrigues me is how upset some get when it's mentioned.

Though it does seem like a logical explanation for the hardware mis-match, I have no idea if that is why there are discrepancies. I agree with lvmk though, it would be nice if LV got their stuff together so that it all matches and has a more cohesive look.
If we found out that all the hardware was made in the same exact factory I'm not too sure if we'd feel better about that.........or worse.

Regardless of where the hardware comes from, like someone else said, if other (cheaper) designers can get their hardware to match, surely LV can.

Ditto...get it together LV!
