I Can't Believe This More Mismatched Hardware

I don't understand why Coach and MK can get their hardware to match but LV can't... Attention to detail is supposed to be what makes a luxury brand luxurious, not just obscenely high prices.
Exactly this! My D&B satchel that my dh bought me last mother's day has gorgeous hardware. Bright shiny gold.....I used it for months on end and it still looks exactly like the day I got it. No scratches or fading whatsoever.
I think LV needs to explain to their customers why they can't seem to match up their hardware anymore?
My theory is that the various pieces of hardware on the bags are produced in different countries and then shipped to their final destination for assembly of the bag. And if the various plants in different countries have different 'formulas' for the hardware then they don't match up?
Just a guess but I bet I'm not far off after reading all that I've read lately about their manufacturing and how it's changed.

All my pochettes and cles look like this, they are using a different hardware on the zipper than the clasps. I noticed it initially and then just went on with things. Still love all of my pretty pochettes! I wouldn't mind them going back to solid brass, but those days have passed I think....

My monogram speedy (classic, not speedy b) has zipper like that and the hardware that holds the handles is also different (not the same as on Almas for example), the lock is the shiniest of the rest of the bag's hardware. But the lock did turn strange dark gold yellow color quickly (my alma's locks are still the same as day one I got them). So maybe LV does this to their less expensive bags? Maybe they treat speedies and neverfulls like a luggage and think these bags deserve some cheaper looking hardware? I don't know... It doesn't bother me too much. But your pochette metis and mismatched s lock I would recommend returning and getting another one.
Polishing your lock using ketchup will return it to it's original shine... It's strange but it works... hope this helps :flowers:

Dooneys are nearly indestructible and well-made.

I'm not sure that ketchup is the best thing, if it gets inside the lock it will mold / draw insects etc. While I've not researched it (mine are too new to need polishing), I'm sure there are better options. My friend had hers polished at the Boutique and worst case scenario the lock & key set is about $40 last time I checked.

Honestly, I wouldn't dare the ketchup trick. :)
Really? I didn't know replacement is so affordable. How does one go about ordering a set?

I also received a New Neverful MM today from Lv.com and it also has mismatched hardware!! The clasp that attached to the little pouch is a warm gold color and the zipper pull on the pouch is a yellower gold color. Inside the Neverful bag itself, the hook clasp to shut the bag is a warm gold color and the zipper pull on the Neverful zippered pocket is a yellower gold color. I do not know what to do - Is this just how they are making them now? Please check your neo neverfuls and let me know. First my pochette metis and now this. Is everyone's like this or do I have really bad luck???

I think it is normal. My speedy 35 B is the same and the strap hooks into an orange gold hoop with a yellow gold attachment. The golds are right next to each other. I've had it 1 1/2 years and have gotten used to it but at first I was alarmed too. Not crazy about it not matching, it's noticeable for sure :(

Just go into the store and ask them for a new set of lock and keys. They carry them in gold, silver and matte gold. $40 is about right or at least that was the price I paid last year when I had to get a new set for my WC speedy since I had misplced the keys.

You can also polish it with silver cream polisher. I buy mine from Safeway. It's about $4 a bottle, squeeze some polish on a white cloth, smear it a bit so it's not too concentrated and then polish the lock and keys. You might need to put some elbow grease into it, but it'll turn out looking pretty good. Not as shiny as a brand new one, but definitely 10x shinier than an old oxidized lock & key.
