I am... Materialistic!?!

Your money, your business! My daughters favorite saying to me when I second guess buying something for myself "YOLO mom, get it!" (you only live once), lol! And she's absolutely right! ;-)

If working hard and spending your own money on things you like is materialistic then so am I. Jealousy is a nasty thing but I experience it all the time when I buy a new bag.

I have been called that too by my HR Director. We were out for dinner and I have my bag (a LV epi bag) and all of a sudden she turned to a fellow HR manager, saying "(My name) is the kind of girl you should never marry. Going after designer stuff."

Wow - that's absurd.

You earn your own money, so you deserve to spend it on anything you want. I have never been called materialistic, but I have been questioned as to why I spend so much on a purse like when I bought my Chanel bags. I just said "Whenever I spend YOUR money on something you don't like....is when you GET an opinion." It shut that person up real fast. :supacool:

I am materialistic and proud. I am young, work hard and enjoy certain luxuries. My mother raised me to be self sufficient and to treat myself to something really nice every now and again. I have no credit card debit and pay everything with my own money. If someone has a problem they can build a bridge and get over it *kanye shrug* and *flips hair*

In my opinion, being materialistic is someone who just " buy whatever she wants not bcoz she needs it but bcoz she likes it" .And im not going to sugar coat here but in the handBag world (specifically LV )most of us know we do buy LV's that we dont necessarily need.So one person might have 6?10?20? But who cares? Im guilty
and honestly think im materialistic but as long as im not scamming people, being a home wrecker to families, stealing or whatever dodgy way to get these "materialistic things" then i wouldnt really care even if it was a family member who will say that to me.

But yes sometimes it makes me feel horrible if i see news on tv or documentary showing people who doesnt have food, house or just people who live simple life(not that im rich lol)

We are living in a material world and I am a material girl.

When I was 7 I asked my mom what a material world meant. I thought it had to do with fabric and sewing. Even at 7 and rather poor, I liked the message. I make no apologies for it. I try to do good where I can. I run for charity. I donate my time and money to causes. And I love shoes and bags. If anyone has a problem with that, then something is missing in their lives. Everyone has an opinion. Few have a brain.

Your sister seems to be jealous...that being said, I wouldn't let your LV's get in the way of your bond, family is way to important. Maybe don't wear new bags around her, just the one she already knows you have? My sis at one time made negative comments about my bags, and said I was crazy, but now she wants one. She was not in the financial place to buy, so she criticized, but now her finances have improved. Your working, so it's your choice.
