I went in to the closest roots store last night prepared to buy my bag only to find out that it's sold out.My beloved cafe bag is completely sold out across canada. I didn't realize it was a limited edition style... they still have it in woven and also they just got it in white for the spring/summer as well... i wanted plain black. I can make a special order for 15% charge. I decided to part my ways with that dream of a bag for now.
I had gone in wanting to come out with a handbag and i was determined to get something. My next choice was the small grace bag... upon comparing the any colours i decided upon the classic tribe colour. Since i usually go for black, i wasn;t completely sold on the idea of having a light brown bag but the sales person convinced me it can be worn all occasions(work, weekend etc). After looking at all the colours, i kept coming back to the tribe... and decided to bite the bullet and take a plunge. I'm so happy i did. The more i look at it and wear it the more i really like it. I love the style of the bag.
Perhaps in the future i will special order my cafe bag.
Also i saw that a coworker had a flat bag in grey tribe leather which i didn't see in store and it was soooo nice. I love the colour... if the grace came in that i would have gotten that in a heartbeat. Maybe ill special order that too. haha. I did see the purple tribe as well at the store which was very nice as well.
I just wanted to update and let you know guys know my final decision. Maybe i will do a reveal and post pics in a day or two.

it's sold out throughout the company. They only have the woven or white available and i don't want either.

I was looking at the niki pouch online yesterday. It was $49, now today 25% off. The store my me didnt have one, so they ordered me one with free shipping. $36. I can't wait to get it. It was nice to put my hands on so many of the bags, they are lovely and the unlined ones are my favorite. I wish there was a bag in the bright pink that I liked.
It's always fun to get in there and see the bags irl, the smell of leather. All my Roots bags and even pouches have the mostly lovely scent of leather!

Are you after the solid black Cafe bag? if so i saw one yesterday on sale ... it was NOT woven, it was a smooth black leather.
Has anyone bought roots leather flats? I'm considering liking into them as I'm looking for ones with good rubber soles which they has apparently.
So I ordered my pouch on the 23rd, and I just now figured out how to track it. I'm surprised with all the stores in the US that they would send it from Canada. It won't be here until Monday. 11 days.. that seems like forever. ah well.

Sorry guys i've been meaning to do a review on my grace bag but i've been busy. I'm off today so will try to get some pictures and write up a review.
I've been using it for about 2 weeks-ish? and so far i'm pretty happy with it.I was extremely tempted to take advantage of their customer appreciation sale but i resisted and didn't even bother stepping foot into a roots store out of fear i would give in. ha ha. I had to remind myself and talk my self out of ordering stuff a few times when i went to the website though.
Gah they told me it was sold out everywhere! liars! lol I really really want it. I just purchased the small grace bag instead but would love the cafe bag as well... i'll probably just end up special ordering it or perhaps i'll make them check again to see if there's any left bahaha.
