This is absolutely stunning, not only neat storage but the collection !

I am not sure but have a gut feeling that it should not be done.....glazes, especially on metallic bags you never know how they will behave in contact with some other surface glaze....I even do not allow handles or straps of the bag to lay over that bag, I keep them vertical and far from the body if I can

I read somewhere that it is not a good idea. They sell plastic dividers that would work. Your closet and your bags are something to be proud of.

If you have cloth dust bags for your more expensive bags, they will protect the leathers better than having leathers touch...I don't see any patent leather which would be the most at-danger of getting ruined.

Also, depending on where you live, you have to be careful about humidity causing mold growth on leather.

For Chanel flaps, where the flap pockets are tightly touching adjacent leathers...some people insert a non-acidic? soft fabric piece so they don't stick together which has been known to happen to some bags.

I think the same, sometimes hardware gets a bit greenish in humidity

Such a cozy and beautiful closet! All that mushiness! I like how your bags are properly stuffed and well organized.

But I do agree, I don't think the bags should touch each other, especially if they're different colors. I always make sure there's some space between my bags and SLGs, just in case. I can see there isn't much room left on the shelves for spacing the bags, so... maybe it's time for a big makeover? :graucho: Redoing everything completely and/or taking some stuff out to make room for bags? And you could stuff the Bottegas and the Spy that are laying flat on top of one another if you had more space.

May I ask the names of:
1. three bags on the topmost shelf in the corner, left and right of the Prada?
2. the black bag with the diamond quilt in the last picture?

TIA!

Thanks for this, no patent, one PVC Issey Miyake but I've buffered it with dust bags. Luckily humidity isn't a big deal for me and we have air conditioning which means the house is fairly well sealed so dust isn't a major issue either.

That's an idea I hadn't thought of! I've just been really frustrated with the sloppiness of dustbags and the lack of visual bag appeal (plus I kept forgetting that I had some of my bags!).

To the right of the Prada is a Balenciaga courier in marine and the BEST leather (can't recall if that one's an 07 or 08). The other two are my new Longchamp Le Pliage Cuirs, which I purchased in the winter sales. Small one is khaki, the medium is brandy. The diamond quilted wth the brown strap is a Chanel On the Road hobo.

I do have space in other closets and I may have to utilize that as well. Or perhaps some sort of spacer in between each bag...

Your amazing collection and storage system are great . (I feel like you must have even more bags than what’s shown, lol.). I am uptight about my bags — I don’t let the handles/hardware of bags lay against the leather body. I either 1) prop up (or wrap) the handles with white gift tissue paper or image.jpg 2) tuck little foam wrapping under the hardware (see above pic). I do this because even though the preloved Bals I have are in excellent shape, I can still see faint hardware marks on the leather from the handles. So I would be a little concerned that the hardware of your bags might lightly stain the bags next to them over time. That’s just my uptight opinion, lol.

Nope that's all my bags, I'm at 49 with five for sale so 54 if you count those. More than some, much less than others. I don't have enough attention span to treat my bags as carefully as you do yours, sadly .
