How to organize your closet and handbags

So i have a small handbag closet and just had custom shelving installed. Now I'm trying to figure out the best way to organize my collection. Would love to hear opinions about grouping bags together by color, brand, size, material or style.

I’ve done both by brand or by colour. For me colour works best as I can tell at a glance what will go with my outfit, in this way giving good rotation to all my bags. If brand is also important to you, you could make yourself a data base with your bags arranged by brand or any other parameter such as style.

I have a spreadsheet (I think many PF members do) listing my bags, with details of colour, size, brand, leather type…plus date of purchase etc.

I also have a wishlist which I’ve edited several times, which I’m happy with now, although atm I don’t have a bag to let go of, so I think my next new bag will be next year.

My closet arrangement changes seasonally - the most used ones on lower shelves and least on the upper. I also use a small riser on half of one middle shelf for smaller bags. All of my bags are kept in their dust bags so color doesn't factor in.

I'm just about to do that shuffle this week.....

Group by brand, then style, then size. I mix up color, bc if all the black ones are together the6 ar hard for me to spot

We’re hopefully moving into our gut renovation in the next month or so, and have a dressing room planned with bag storage.

Good luck with your move-I will move back into London in the future(which I miss but am not looking forward to the move)..
The dressing room with bag storage sounds fun-I may take inspiration from that as my bags are currently inside my closets (although I do know what I have).
