Also Deep Plane is more costly WHY would they give you that when you haven't paid for it. V.Lif does not do Deep Plane anyway. They do SMAS and SMAS has been known to fail fairly early. I have seen many cases of women going back for a Deep Plane revision only after about 2 years and OMG their faces after 2 years with a SMAS lift is shocking.

Hello,
I actually had a high SMAS deep plane facelift at V.lif. My doctor specializes in them. He did a fantastic job!

My Brit HK Chinese friend is now in surgery at Apgujeong Seoul Plastic Surgery clinic or ASPS. He was shown 100s of b&a smas facelifts on the computer and told me the results were good. Dr Lee the chief surgeon has been doing smas facelifts for decades. And they are keeping him overnight. He will be the third person I know who has chosen ASPS, an affordable yet long experienced clinic specialising in smas facelifts.

He does not recommend Lex hotel as they have a disco in the basement and he could hear it even on the top 9th floor! No wonder the hotel provides airport pick up!

He took a photo of Fresh clinic good for fat grafting and the old MVP clinic as the surgeons have left to Machimpyo and Nose Lips clinics.

I am now anxiously awaiting to see his results. ASPS are keeping him overnight which is super since Coppergate Clinic does not provide overnight clinic stay for FL/NL. He is truly getting a bargain for £9k! Smas FL/NL, forehead fat graft and free botox with overnight stay. As a solo medical tourist it is good they look after him tonight.

Today's post identifies 2 stages in one's life when extreme aging kicks in...around age 30 when one loses baby fat from the face and at menopause. In Korea they would treat 30 year olds with full face fat graft and start facelifts in one's 30s! In the west they rely on botox and fillers for 2 decades and then start the cycle of facelifts from 50s on.

I met my Korean American first cousins in Lisbon and one of their 19 yo sons said I looked 30! Humph. He called it a 'glow up' when I told him I was actually 58. I like the term glow up. In the urban dictionary it means positive personal transformation and is a compliment.

Here are my latest 'glow up' selfies.

I have added VLIF clinic to my blacklist of clinics in Korea. Here is the 4 month VLIF facelift result of an American Asian who posted on IG. Her 4 month after looks exactly like her before she sent me! She told me she booked smas but after the op was told Dr Shim did a DP?! Do not go to any clinic that offers DP as you don't know if they may use you as a guinea pig for dp learning curve practice.

She asked for revision as she was not happy with her $10,000 facelift result but was told he would only do mini lipo for her jowl that had returned so quickly. So this clinic does not even offer free revision for up to a year! Unlike VLIF, ASPS offers free facelift revision for up to a year.

She has had to keep changing her tpf name as they threaten anyone who leaves a negative review as they have me on tpf. I refuse to let foreigners be badly treated in Korea!

Here is a reminder from 2018 of @jsorchid's smas FL/NL transformation at ASPS with chief surgeon Dr Lee. She was a 52 yo American Asian nurse who flew from Chicago to Seoul! Look up her tpf thread of her facelift journey. I commend her for helping fellow foreigners by posting a detailed photo facelift journey unlike others who use others to see their photos then do not share their results.

Unlike Koreans in Korea, I waited until age 55 to have my facelift! Here is a dramatic before and after smas cutting away 8 cms of loose skin (stretched from repeated facial fat grafts without steroids), with postop steroids to stop postop facelift swelling.

My British friend asked me why my selfies are all not smiling. lol. When I smile I get chipmunk cheeks! I have too much fat graft in my cheeks from repeated fat grafts. I would advise you stop at 3 and not do a whopping 5 cycles like I did.

Here is an extreme example of what happens with facial fat graft if you gain weight. If you do embark on a journey of facial rejuvenation with fat grafting in Korea you must keep your weight stable for life! It is hard work as tummy or thigh fat in the face swells when you eat salty and fatty foods and if you gain weight the fat may stretch your skin and give you nlfs and marionettes at an earlier age than you would like.

Wow! @miryam777 that is such outrageous pricing! My Brit Chinese male friend is literally arriving to Incheon any time now. His flight left 10 hours ago from the UK. He booked chief surgeon Dr Lee at ASPS for smas FL/NL for later this week. He got his pred from Cosmic Ventures on indiamart online for $37 and back up £27 pred from Sunrise on indiamart with a uk bank account. Interestingly ASPS are adamantly opposed to pred.
Hi MissOrange, which mg is the 37$ and the 27. thanks

Here are unfiltered images of Kylie Jenner aged 26 from the daily mail online showing premature aging with loss of baby fat from the temples and lower face revealing prominent NLFs and sunken malar pads. This is what I am seeing…aging occurring at 2 points in one’s life..from late 20s to 30 and then again at menopause. Youth seems to be so fleeting. Kylie may have to rely on botox and fillers until she gets her first facelift.

On the flip side we see Katie Price now booking her 6th facelift at age 46. She hasn’t even reached menopause yet. Her face will have so much scar tissue under the surface.

Hi @MissOrange
I'm grateful for you sharing your expertise on this site.
I had one question: I'm in my late 20s, and I recently had jaw surgery for sleep apnea, with a cheek implant. It seems this has caused my skin to bunch up in the paranasal area, whether due to ligaments being released during the incisions or a sagging malar fat pad I don't know, causing very pronounced nasolabial folds and nasojugal grooves. I think a midface lift is needed to fix it. Do you know what techniques doctors use when it just addresses the midface lift? Doctors seem to specify if they do deep plane or smas with a full facelift but not with midface lift. No websites I've come across specify, they just call it a " midface lift."
Hi @thessalonica, I am sorry to hear you got cheek implants. The weight of the implants may be causing prominent NLFs. The implants will have also stretched out your cheek skin. You are at an age when the first stage of aging occurs, ie late 20s with the appearance of NLFs. It will be hard to find a surgeon who would do any facelift on a 20+ year old. Whether you get a midface lift or lower facelift, they use either smas or deep plane techniques as the smas muscle runs from the upper cheek (zygomatic arch) down to the platysma (neck muscle).

It's also down to genes. I looked younger than that in my early 60's. I tell no lie and constantly mistaken for much younger (but admittedly by Caucasians who can't tell Asian ages). I sent some photos to View and they asked if I had already had work done, LOL. I did get 2 sessions of filler for my NLFs in my 40's but stopped as I couldn't afford them anymore and strangely the last lot of filler held till my 60's. That's the truth as I hate nothing more than NLFs. I have noticed on Chinese dramas even some men and some women in their 30's have some and I put it down to their bone structure as there is no logical reason for them to have NLFs.
