I noticed I was getting a nlf and marionette on my pescetarian vegan hardly any protein diet and remembered that protein improves the collagen in the face. Also tpfers in Korea back in 2016 told me to stop wearing aging eyeshadow. Here is my 58 yo face just now looking young again without eyeshadow and after a few days of eating kfc skin on chicken, avocados, berries, burger whopper meat, wagamama katsu chicken, grilled chicken, etc. And here is the official list of foods to improve the collagen in your face to remove lines and wrinkles. https://www.eatingwell.com/article/7896640/best-foods-to-eat-for-a-collagen-boost/

Beware being a fishetarian. A recent study1 found that Malaysia ranks highest among 109 countries in consuming microplastics. On average, Malaysians ingest about 502.3 mg of microplastics daily per capita. Interestingly, more than 50% of Malaysia’s microplastic consumption comes from eating fish.

Microplastics could raise your risk of a heart attack: Scientists discover tiny fragments inside more than 50% of plaques from clogged arteries

  • Experts found plastic in 58% of patients having procedures to clear major artery
  • Findings raise concerns microplastics increase risk of heart disease and strokes
The findings have raised concerns that microplastics could increase your risk of heart disease, strokes, and death.
'Our data will dramatically impact cardiovascular health if confirmed because we are defenceless against plastic pollution,' said Dr Raffaele Marfella, first author of the study.
In the study, the researchers analysed 304 patients who had undergone procedures to clear a major artery in the neck.
More than half (58 per cent) were found to have microscopic and nanoscopic 'jagged-edged' pieces of plastic in the plaque lining the blood vessel.
This included both polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride.
'Polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride, in their various forms, are used in a wide range of applications, including the production of food and cosmetics containers and water pipes,' the team wrote in their study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
Patients with plastic particles in their carotid artery plaque had a 4.5 times higher risk of experiencing a heart attack or stroke or dying during the next three years, the researchers found after taking individuals' other risk factors into account.
Those patients also had high levels of inflammatory proteins in their blood that are known to play a role in atherosclerosis and heart failure, the researchers said.

Each week we swallow a credit card-worth of plastic particles. Over a year this adds up to 260g, or half a pound.

Last month, for example, a study by the same university, published in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives, found that the microplastics from our food can invade our bloodstream, liver, kidneys, even our brain.
Meanwhile in April neurosurgeons in China, writing in the journal Toxicology, warned that microplastics and nanoplastics can get past our brain's natural defence against infection – the 'blood-brain barrier', a normally formidable barrier that usually keeps dangerous substances from entering the brain – and disrupting vital functions such as the way our brain cells work.
The previous month another group of researchers in China reported that in lab studies on mice, the presence of microplastics in the brain appears to accelerate the progression of early dementia symptoms – called mild cognitive impairment – into full-blown Alzheimer's disease. In all these studies the damage results from the microplastics sparking harmful levels of chronic inflammation in the body as our immune system tries to fight off these synthetic invaders.
'We found that washing rice before cooking reduced plastics contamination by up to 40%,' he says.

While fruit and veg should underpin any healthy diet, you may want to eat more of some than others.
Food hygiene scientists at the University of Catania in Italy found that, overall, fruits contain significantly higher levels of microplastics than veg - of all the produce they surveyed in a 2020 study, lettuce had the lowest level of microplastic contamination.
The scientists suggest that fruit absorb more microplastics generally because it absorbs more water, which carries the plastics, and also because the trees that bear fruit live for years in soil from which they draw plastic pollution.
By contrast, they said, vegetables live in soil for only weeks or months.

Choose tea bags with care

Steeping a plastic tea bag at a brewing temperature of 95c releases around 11.6 billion microplastics and 3.1 billion nanoplastics into a single cup, according to a 2019 study from McGill University in Canada, published in the journal Environmental Science & Technology.

Average bottle of water contains 240,000 pieces of cancer-causing nanoplastics - 100 times more than previously thought

I know. A friend of mine had a SMAS lift that failed within about 4 months. She then had a deep plane about 2 years later with a different surgeon. It made a big difference and it has still held up after 18 months.

Her experience (along with others) makes it very difficult to understand how the deep plane would make the face sag horribly by default, although I've no doubt it has for some. The woman in the attached article got 20 years out of a deep plane facelift - from her late 40s to late 60s.

I feel a mix of SMAS with some deep plane dissection (dual plane) may be an alternative approach to look at.

Personally I feel ageing isn't just due to A or B, and a facelift isn't a magic bullet for some people. The lucky ones start off with the right anatomy that allows them to really get a wow result, whether it's from a deep plane or SMAS.
Who is the surgeon?

Hi @Sarakhamis, welcome to TPF. Just to clarify deep plane and smas are two different facelift procedures. The former will permanently damage your face by severing your facial retaining ligaments and the other will keep your ligaments intact and give you 10-15 years of lifted face longevity as long as you take postop oral steroids for a week to prevent any swelling.

My British friend is trying ASPS clinic in Seoul in 15 days. He will report back to me on his progress so I can determine how good Dr Lee's smas facelift is. ASPS do not give prednisolone to their patients so their faces will swell postop which leads to skin laxity. His prednisolone has arrived at heathrow from indiamart to stop any postop swelling.

I don't know any Chinese surgeons so can't recommend any. I have been watching Dr Tang on instagram for fun as the b&a facelift transformations are extreme.
Do you know if I can get facelift together with facial contouring?

Today's post is a concerning one on facelift surgeons. We have seen how a tpfer flew to Korea, paid $10k to Vlif for a smas facelift and ended up getting a DP unbeknownst to her. She was told after the operation! The face then sagged within months. This poor lady had her facial retaining ligaments permanently cut without her consent! I have yet to see a case of a face not sag after DP or DP revision as we need our scaffold ligaments!

Why would a surgeon do DP instead of smas while you are asleep unbeknownst to you? One obvious reason may be to gain practice doing DPs at your expense.

How then do you know if the surgeon does a dp instead of smas while you are asleep?

One way may be to look for 'dog ear' swellings in the upper cheeks. Think Angelina Jolie in Maleficent.

View attachment 6006918

Some ladies who have deep plane end up with these unusual deformities but what if you consented to a smas and developed suspicious dp dog ears?

With smas I have never seen any ladies develop dog ears.

What if you paid for smas, took postop pred but developed dog ears and early sagging within weeks?

Unless the surgeon tells you he did DP and not smas, how will you ever know?

You can ask for a copy of your operation records but what if the surgeon refuses to provide one?

It is a worry that some surgeons end up doing a different operation while you are under. Case in point, I paid for and consented to explant with a full anchor breast lift with Guy Sterne and awoke to a mini donut perareolar breast lift which put all the tension on my skin sutures closing around the areolae instead of an anchor lift distributing tension below the breast so as not to leave hypertrophic scarring. I ended up with early breast sagging and hypertrophic periareolar scarring. This led me down the rabbit hole of asking for a free revision, third degree periareolar laser burn, burn surgery repair, breast fat transfer for asymmetrical lift revision and finally areoiar medical tattoo to mask the pigment changes. He got away with it as his consent form just had one word mastopexy ie breast lift next to explant.

I was fortunate with my facelift as my surgeon was not doing deep planes in 2022.

All I can advise is find a surgeon or clinic who only does smas (ie ASPS clinic in Seoul) and not deep plane or have your smas under local as he cannot do a dp under local. And if you dare go under, then write on the consent form 'only SMAS' next to facelift/rhytidectomy so the surgeon cannot add 'sub' to smas as sub smas=DP! Then take a photo of your signed consent form as often times the consent form is on an ipad and not paper so may be easily altered.

Welcome to the unscrupulous world of plastic surgery where not only do you have to navigate ghost surgeons or doctor swapping in factory clinics or training hospitals, or one anaesthetist covering simultaneous patients under GA in Korea, but now the phenomenon of operation swapping both in Korea and in the UK!
I am concerned about this article referring to V.lif as incompetent?

As a recent out of country patient of V.lif’s who had a lot of surgery done on my face due to aging, I question the information about the alleged wrong procedure being done?
Have you verified her account of this through photos and documentation? Or was this reference based just on her review? I know that ghost doctors do exist in some clinics.

My experience was that were too many checks & balances for that to happen.

1. They ask YOU before surgery what you are having done
2. They mark your face and discuss your procedure
3. They have cctv footage of the entire procedure (which keeps them accountable)
4. Numerous post op appointments
5. They are accredited by Gangnam Medical Tourism
Hard to see with all this how that could have happened?

So being a concerned patient of V.lif, I reached out to them about this. They informed me that they are aware of the allegations being said & are seeking legal action.

Many ladies get facelifts without fat volume replacement. This may create an unnatural lift with potential fat herniation as deep plane facelifts cut the retaining ligaments that hold fat in their respective compartments. The face may then drop and look square again with loss of high cheek volume. Note how even Dr Karam missed his wife’s superior orbital fat compartment.

Only the expertise of Korean fat transfer surgeons with decades of experience can correctly replace fat in all the superficial and deep compartments. I am truly fortunate I ventured to Korea for facial fat transfer to replace superior orbital fat loss, lateral temporal cheek fat loss, forehead fat loss, malar fat pad loss, nasolabial, mandibular and premental fat loss for 2.5 million won and top ups for 1 million won.

OMG! Fellow GP Dr Tim Pearce worked out the same principles that I have, ie the importance of the ligaments and fat pad volume (he depicts as pink balloons sandwiched between the ligament scaffolding). How terrifying then to think of deep plane facelifts that cut these ligaments which then may lead to perhaps permanent facial instability.

Hi Miss Orange. First I like to say, I love your posts and the topics you address, I think is awesome to have someone who shares experiences and knowledge related to staying young and beautiful. For a while now I been thinking about a Deep Plane Fl., even got a quote from JK in Korea. They have a good reputation but are expensive plus their recommendation includes procedures that may not be necessary, here is their pricing. (*Deep plane (facelift +Neck lift): 35,640,000 KRW, Platysmaplasty: 4,125,000 KRW, *2' Lower Blepharoplasty + Cheek lifting: 9,825,000 KRW and *ACCUSCULPT(double chin ): 3,630,000 KRW, this doesn’t include post-surgery meds. After doing research and reading this post, I’ve changed my mine and think I only need an SMAS and Neck Lift procedure. Based on your experience, can you recommend a good clinic in S. Korea. I’ve checked a few like JW, the pricing is reasonable, but they have bad comments then some clinics only speak Korean. Let me know what you recommend. 🙏
Thank you in advance for your guidance 🙏

Also Deep Plane is more costly WHY would they give you that when you haven't paid for it. V.Lif does not do Deep Plane anyway. They do SMAS and SMAS has been known to fail fairly early. I have seen many cases of women going back for a Deep Plane revision only after about 2 years and OMG their faces after 2 years with a SMAS lift is shocking.

My parents have always boiled water they drank, I always found that old school and I just relied on using water filters. With the recent studies on microplastics, it's come out that boiling water can remove up to 80% of the microplastics in water so I now boil all the water I drink too!

BTW for tea bags, I switched to cutting open my tea bags and using this to steep the tea, it works great: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NV77FN1

Buy loose leaf tea from same brand or other brands. Yes, apparently Chinese scientist have proven that boiling water removes a lot of microplastics but they also recommend then straining the water with a paper filter like the old fashioned coffee filters to actually removing the plastics which I presume are now clumped together. Yikes

I have finished reversing accelerated aging from menopause 2.4 years ago. I don't plan on any more plastic surgery until my 70s. I just didn't want to look 50s. Looking 20s happened by accident as I reversed the changes menopause created to my face and body. For instance getting rid of nlfs will make anyone look 20s.

I am now focusing on longevity. Sadly 7 million people died of covid but I already worked out prophylaxis and early meds to prevent and treat so my OH and I are novids (never tested pos for covid). I have my working theories on how to prevent and treat cancer too. And am working on improving my memory with daily blueberries and vitamin E. There is a lot to keep me busy as my next project and challenge include how to tackle the pfizer covid mrna gene therapy jab side effects many of us took unwittingly and its risk of turbo cancer. But all this is reserved for my private social media account as this is a plastic surgery forum. And hopefully I have warned the public here on the permanent risks of deep plane facelifts.

According to this physical therapist's balance test I am also under 30s physically. Cross your arms, stand on one leg and close your eyes for at least 30 seconds.

Regular use of fish oil supplements may increase first time heart disease and stroke risk for those who have good heart health

The research found that fish oil supplements may increase the risks for someone who does NOT already have a heart condition, but for those who already have cardiovascular issues, the supplement may reduce the risks.

The study found that regular use of fish oil supplements was associated with a 13% higher risk of developing atrial fibrillation and 5% heightened risk of having a stroke if the person had no known heart condition. Fish oil may increase risk of stroke, heart conditions: Study (thehill.com)

Wow! @miryam777 that is such outrageous pricing! My Brit Chinese male friend is literally arriving to Incheon any time now. His flight left 10 hours ago from the UK. He booked chief surgeon Dr Lee at ASPS for smas FL/NL for later this week. He got his pred from Cosmic Ventures on indiamart online for $37 and back up £27 pred from Sunrise on indiamart with a uk bank account. Interestingly ASPS are adamantly opposed to pred.

The Korean won is now the weakest Asian currency! Now is the best time to book the plastic surgery ops you always wanted to get! A smas FL for £5k or 9 mill won or a fl/nl for 11 mill won or £6k! My Brit HK friend sent me a photo outside ASPS clinic. He has secured a morning slot for his smas FL/NL and fat graft with complimentary botox for 16 million won or £9k.

As prices skyrocket in the US and UK for plastic surgery, prices are taking a dive in Asia! Take advantage of our strong Western currency.

Another HK friend had his des + ptosis correction with Dr Seo in December for only $1500! He said the US surgeon's fee quote was $13,000 plus hospital fee.

For a plastic surgery addict who has been almost 2.5 years without surgery, I am resisting temptation! I do need a thigh lift and maybe another lower face retightening?
