pink pudding, u might want to try this place in san fran. Its on 2nd street between mission and market. Its called shoe & leather service. They are the bomb!! This is the secret spot that gucci/nm/saks, etc (u get the picture) take their handbags for repairs. Even though I live in NY, I still take my stuff there when I visit my family... I REFUSE to go anywhere else. HTH!

wow..
i saw u live in south cal, luvmygirls0..in LA?
may I know the address of the place?

just in case:)

yeah, I saw a lot of people say about Magic Eraser, but i guess they also said that it would harass the bank or smthg, not really sure tho:smile1:

I went to the factotum in Newport Beach. (I am from the OC.) They also have other locations, as you can see from bag.lover's post. They were great - got the stain out completely, and it only took 3 days.

HTH!!

Hi all,
Nice thread! I can add my experience. I just bought a 2006 blanc Paddy and I treated it with the Apple leather care. Nothing bad has happened: the leather is just softer and in very good shape!
What really worries me is the lock: I start to see the first signs of usage. I carried the bag with me for maybe 10/15 days and now I started to carry her without the lock, to avoid new signs. What can I do? Does it happen to all the 2006 Paddies?
Oh, another question: does Chloè sell new padlocks? (just in case, you know...)
Thank you in advance :smile1:

Hi there,

I am also in Australia and just bought my first Chloe bag (large Betty tote) last week in Hong Kong. The colour is ginger. I am petrified about getting her dirty or wet as have had a bad experience previously on a Marc Jacobs (got caught in a massive downpour and ruined the bag), however the MJ was a lighter camel colour. Given the amount of $$ I spent on Betty I do not care how much the postage is to Australia - I will pay it to protect my investment.

Questions to the experts: Will the Apple leather conditioner darken the leather? Should I use both conditioner and water repellant spray afterwards, or would the water repellant spray on its own be sufficient?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 yeah!! I have exactly the same questions as you!! anyone..please help? :flowers:

I have used saddlesoap on my distressed leather coach and was not pleased with the results: it darkened the leather in weird slotches.

I would not try it on any of my bags :s

I wouldn't be too concerned about using things on the leather to protect it, I think the leather on these bags is pretty hardy.

At the moment we're in the middle of several days of torrential rain, and I walk to work (too close to drive) and I have been taking my paddy to work. Now my paddy is a very light colour, galet, and when I got to work (after using an umbrella) I found I still managed to get it wet. I was aghast to see that there were dark spots all over the bag, almost bluish in colour, where the water had hit the leather. I was so worried my bag was destroyed. But within minutes the blotches had disappeared and the leather is again a smooth even colour. These weren't just little mists of rain either, it was big large drops that soaked in.
If you look after your bag and keep it away from grimy things, I don't think you would ever need to put anything on the leather. The natural softness and suppleness will keep it looking fine, imo :smile1:

Any suggestions how to clean my chamois betty hobo? - seems my black top rubbed and "stained' some parts of the leather. Briefly wiped it with damp cloth but it is not coming off. TIA

Hve you tried baby wipes - they have worked wonders for me in the past

Baby wipes not working:crybaby:- now i have a "dirty" looking bag. I am really disappointed -this was supposed to be my everyday bag with all the pockets I just love . Sometimes I question if is it justified to pay so much for this bags and yet worry about color transfer and stuff. - They should come with warning labels -:cursing:. Oh I am just venting.
