I also began collecting right before the onset of the pandemic, and buying silks became a nice soothing hobby.

I started during the long Sydney covid lockdown too. Just wanted something colourful and pretty while I was anxious about the situation. Mine was the Kachinas wash version. I wore it the first day we were able to go back to work over 4 months later. ❤️

I bought my first Hermes scarf when I was 44 years old. The Hermes scarf is a plisse with the Russian Toys on it (I can't remember the name of it and am too lazy at the moment to go to my closet to read the tag I taped on the box.)
The first shawl I bought (that same day) was Kachinas in the pink/turquoise color. These were my birthday presents, picked out by me, on vacation at the Rodeo Hermes store. I still have and wear these beauties!

I bought my first one at 22 when i had my first introduction to the brand at hermes scarf sale in Toronto. I fell in love with the quality and brand after that. Half of my scarves have now come as gifts from my parents during their travels or my travels so have sentimental value. If you are a casual dresser you can buy the leather scarf belt converter and turn the scarves to a fun belt which works with jeans and dresses.

18, when I first came to London in 1973, and could go to the Hermes shops when they had twice yearly sales. My first scarf was Gaucho by Cathy Latham in raspberry pink and grey (1973 sale price £27 vs. £370 current price!) I continued with my Hermes ‘habit’ gradually preferring the more modern designs over the classic ones, and have always worn them in a casual way, tucked in my jacket or cardigan neck. I only buy the classic 90 format.0597DD04-814B-4757-80E6-BDADAB8BB9A7.jpeg

I'm fairly new to Hermes scarves, bought my first one last November in person after admiring them online. I've always been a scarf/shawl wearer since my early 30s. I wore cotton or cotton blend gavroche or bandanas way back even in my college days - not Hermes quality but they were part of my wardrobe.

During the pandemic, I was working non-stop at home and started looking at the Hermes scarves as a way to help calm my mind. I fell in love (and still am!) with the artistry, colors. My collection has been growing, though it has slowed the past few months as travel/vacation is picking back up. I'm watching all the new AW22 collections come in but I probably won't be able to set foot into a store until mid August so I will remain patient :)

I remembered the name: Zabavushka for the plisse scarf!
