Scarves How old were you when you had your first H scarf ?

About 32! I used to be very reluctant in wearing any scarves as I always thought they just make you look older and mature. But now I absolutely love wearing scarves - just buy designs and colors that are younger and make sure the style and look is clean. They are so versatile!
Yes designs have changed !! Thanks dear for your opinion

It was in 1996 and I was in law school, so I was 24. It was a pink Etriers and I received it as a gift.

The first one I purchased myself was a blue Les Bissone de Venise from eBay in 1997 (I was 25) and then also a green Tutankhamun from another collector, back when the only way for scarf collectors to meet up was in Yahoo Groups (hiiii :hbeat: @880 :drinks:).

The first one I remember purchasing from a boutique was Raconte-Moi le Cheval in both the pink and the lavender colorways from the NYC boutique when it used to be on 57th Street.

I remember waaaaay too much of this stuff, lol.

I used to borrow steal my mothers' as a teen in the 1990s until she gave me a vintage carre (Selles a Housse by Christiane Vauzelles 1967 - bought at an antique fair). I did indeed wear when I was teaching people older than I was to give a sense of 'authority' . Then a friend gave me Le Chants du Henné (2002) which I wore to interviews. Although I'd bought my mother scarves as present, I bought my first for me 2009 and have worn them almost every day since. I still prefer 90s although I have most other formats too which I enjoy.

Age 45 and the first one was Jungle Love Rainbow 45, the same as my age :D.
I have many shawls before Hermes. Most of them I bought during my travels so they are usually handmade by the local people at the place I visited. Then I fell in love with the big cats in H’s scarves. My plan was to slowly collect all the big cats scarves but then decided there are only a few that I really really like. I got 2 of them, now searching for the other 2, and then im done :D.

Mod-30s, purchased to celebrate the end of a difficult decade of my life, including the loss of about 50 pounds. But I’ve always loved scarves, and wore pashminas consistently throughout high school and college (I still remember a boy whispering to a girl in my Spanish class saying, “why is she always wearing a scarf?”). I still have a fairly large pashmina collection.

I also began collecting right before the onset of the pandemic, and buying silks became a nice soothing hobby.
