How often do you rotate your bags?

I keep an inventory of all my bags on my reminder list on the iPhone and mark it when I have used the bag. I also divide the number of weeks in a year by the number of bags and name sure rotate often enough to get through all the bags.

:amazed: You're definitely on the right forum.
But yeah, I don't do that... :D

I have favorites that I use more than others.
It also depends on the season- so in the summer, I'll use my lighter colors more often than I would in the winter.

I do try to get in at least 3 different bags a week, but l may use one for five days, then change for the 6th and 7th.

Depends on what I'm wearing and the season. I have two spring/summer bags and three fall/winter bags. Two of the fall/winter bags I bought recently so haven't had the chance to use yet, but I definitely will when cooler weather arrives.

I also have a vintage Coach slim bucket bag I don't use cos it's a shoulder bag, and shoulder bags don't stay on my shoulder. But I don't want to sell it because apparently it's in a rare color.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who can't keep a bag on my shoulder. Was starting to think maybe I had some deformity.

In any case, I currently switch out once a week. However, right after getting a new bag I try to carry it for an entire month to bond with it. The very few times I've bought a bag and not carried it right away, I've noticed I don't come to love it as much and it gets forgotten even in my small collection.

QUOTE=Katheerine;27019189]Thanks ladies!! Love love your replies :-)

I've decided not to buy anymore new bags so I can use and appreciate the ones I have now ... let's see how long it will last!

It's 10:30pm here in Sydney, I've taken your advice and found my outfit and bag for tomorrow :-)[/QUOTE]

The two bags I haven't used yet ... one is a British Tan vintage Coach and the other is a black vintage Coach Madison Copley. Both are far better suited for colder weather wear than summer IMO. I won't forget about them! ;)

I used to change them out by the season. Spring/summer smaller cuter bag to go with the colorful fun clothes. Fall/winter larger bags. I'm not sure why I decided the cold weather goes with larger bags. The last few years I've fallen for my Hermes Lindy and haven't switched it out since I bought it.

Up until this year, I've always owned just one bag and carried it until it fell apart. And I'm almost 47! Feels weird -- in a good way -- to be able to have several to pick from.

I have a board on Pinterest of all the bags I own. That helps me keep track. However, I have been known to use the same bag for months on end until I get bored of it or get a new bag. I know, it's terrible. I really should rotate more often but with a baby, I'm always rushing in the morning. I should invest in a purse organizer like some of the other tPFers have suggested.

I like that! A month of bonding time! LOL! I also do this. If I get a new bag and I don't immediately want to use it, it lets me know that I didn't really like it so I end up returning it and saving my money.

Keep pics of your bags on your phone or tablet.
Oh I will have to do that!!

Wow!! O_O

I think it has to do with more fabric. I often feel the same and smaller bags get more use in summer. Same with bright or lighter colors. More of a summer thing.

Bag inventory sounds like the answer to my prayers!! YAY! Is there an iPhone app that you guys recommend?

By the way, I have never thought to only use light coloured bags for summer and dark coloured bags for winter...where have I been all this time? Obviously not a bag expert like I thought hahahaha

This forum has opened my eyes to so many things :-)

I was like you until I was over 50!

I only have a small collection but there are a couple I never seem to use - Coach and LAMB in good condition but the size/style doesn't work for me.

I'm holding onto them for the next handbag drive - my office building does this once a year and donates bags to abused or welfare ladies to outfit them for getting back into the workforce.

Of the ones I do use I switch once a week or so, not so much to equalize wear but because I get bored with the same one every day.
