How Often Do You Clean Out Your Purse????

I think when some say "change bags" they mean use other bags in their collection. Just because we "change bags" doesn't mean we won't love them later on. While I love all my bags, I can't use one for too long at a time (1 week) because I have other beautiful bags to rotate with.
I know what other's mean by *change bags*, lol....I've been apart of tpf for awhile now:)Some opt to change bags and some opt to use one.Maybe I should have worded it differently..I myself Prefer to use One bag for an extended period, nothing wrong with that.Just like theres nothing wrong with some ladie's using all of their Beautiful bags in their collections:)

I am completely OCD when it comes to this. I make sure everything is in its specific area/packet.
I cannot stand loose change, receipts, or even crumbs in my bag.

I thought this would be a good question to ask and I am looking forward to your responses!

Well...I TRY to handle that stuff (receipts etc) on the spot so I don’t have to stuff them in the bag. But honestly, I consider others and if there’s a line, I just stuff everything in the bag and keep moving. No one likes to get stuck behind that person who decides to organize their wallet at the register.
But if I had to stuff-and-go, then I’ll declutter when I eventually get home, the same day. I refold my reusable shopping bags and replace them into the special pouch they live in inside the handbag.
How often do I CLEAN them, like shaking them out/wiping down etc...? When I empty it out to switch to another bag, I’ll overturn it & shake it or vacuum it. I don’t go at them with, like, a rag and leather soap unless they are looking dingy or there’s a mark. I just apply conditioner as it looks necessary.

at the end of the day, usually while i'm laying things out for the following workday i'll also clean out my bag of receipts or whatever i have picked up throughout the day. if i didn't get receipts or papers i don't do this. i "clean" the bag once a week when i switch to a new one. my cleaning is just shaking out loose fluff and particles, nothing more. if something more significant happened to the bag (like a stain/spill) i wouldn't wait to clean it.

I don't need to do really "clean my bag out" regularly as I deal with things on the spot/on the go. I use purse organizers and pouches to organize everything, so if I get a receipt after a purchase it immediately goes in the pouch or whatever I am using (like a pocket on an organizer) for receipts in that particular bag, if I have change it goes in a coin holder. I won't stand at till and do this, but will do as I walk away or as I get to my car, or whatever. I don't carry "loose" food or things like that in my bags. In other words, I don't end up with loose receipts, change, cash, or so on at bottom of my bag at the end of the day.

I rotate my bags frequently (usually about every 2-5 days, if I am feeling lazy it might be 7 days) so I just shake the prior bag out when I do that before stuffing it and putting it in its dust bags. If it's a light/white bag I will run a leather cleaner wipe over it before putting it away. Others I clean and condition the leather as needed (if I see a mark) and whether needed or not will do it for all my bags (minus my canvas of course) a couple times a year as well as protect those that need it. I rotate my work totes less frequently, maybe every 2-3 weeks, but all the same applies as above.

Not as often as I should, although my bags don't really get "dirty", so to speak. I mostly avoid putting opened snacks (unless it's easily resealed) back in my bag to prevent crumbs. I try to avoid carrying lip liners because sometimes they come open and stain. I try to keep just one capped pen that doesn't easily open in my purse. I'm good about taking receipts out regularly and some of them (like groceries) don't even make it into my purse at all, which helps cut clutter. I am particular about what goes in pockets, but the rest of my bag is a free-for-all and I give them a good shake and cleaning (if needed, usually not) when I alternate.

I carry a long wallet, phone, sunglasses, and a pouch containing all my small loose items. My bags don't get dirty inside, and it's so easy to change out bags. If I end up with a loose paper receipt in the bag, I remove it at the end of the day when I reach for my phone. If I'm traveling, or have a big shopping day, I take an extra empty pouch for all those accumulated items. If it's one of those days where I'm carrying food and a water bottle, those things go in a separate canvas or nylon tote, one that I'm not concerned about getting dirty.

I have pouches too. I carry a small makeup bag with my lip products, blotting powder, and a pen. I would lose my mind if a pen exploded in my bag!
I always keep my phone in my front pocket.
I can't stand anything loose in my bag.

I usually change my bag daily because I coordinate with my outfit. So, my bag gets cleaned out at the end of the day.

However, my bag doesn't really get messy or dirty. And like @shelbryana, I can't stand things running around loose in my bags. So, along with my wallet, sunnies and keys, I carry two pouches for loose items - a small one for makeup and lotion and larger one for miscellaneous: Bluetooth ear piece, pen, tissues, gum, extra iphone battery, receipts. I don't put food or any other messy things into my bags.

Recently I've been switching bags 2-3X/week so whenever I change. I've also been known to carry the same bag for months at a time, and normally I just clean it when it gets to be too heavy or too difficult to find anything. Maybe every other week. I do tend to throw cash, change, cards, tissues, receipts, whatever loose in my bag, so it gets messy. (Sometimes I even put a Chick-fil-a cookie, which comes in a plastic pouch, in one of the pockets. Shhhh!) But lately I've been acquiring some SLGs that are making it easier to organize my bag and keep the things I use most often close at hand. Also makes it easier to switch bags and not leave anything behind.
